Saw somebody wearing a k701 with a portable amp setup. Who wears a k701 around a college campus....

i see nothing wrong with that. i wear my k601 out in public everywhere i go. i guess i should go out in public only if i have the beats? i guess i'm not a hipster without ma beats.

Its about not using a highly amp dependent open studio headphone as a portable. It just makes no sense and quite frankly I think it doesn't just make you a hipster, it makes you a very stupid hipster. Get some real portables like some hd-25's or something that was made to wear around campus. As I remember from my old k701 they do not bode well with outside noise, hence you must care more about the looks then the sound.

Today, while waiting for my bus, I saw a soccer team waiting for theirs. When they approached I noticed that approximately 10 out of the 20 guys on the team were wearing Beats by Dre Solos and they all had the same color as well.

Ever since I started getting into headphones, I've begun noticing what people wear. There are a lot of stock apple earbuds, Bose, and Beats on my campus. Yesterday though, I saw a girl with Ath-M50s, which was pretty cool.

In 5 months I have only seen 5-10 different people wearing headphones that weren't bose or monster. All the other relatively good headphones that I have seen were sonys. And I see hundreds of people per day, its amazing that there are so few audiophiles in the area!

My boss bought a set of Beats Studios, the noise-canceling ones. I got a few minutes with them, and while they didn't sound quite as bad as I thought they would, they  sure as hell are not worth the $300 he paid. My $34 JVC HAS600's sound better....lol.

At the eaton center in toronto I have seen:

HD-25 originals - on some skater looking kid
Audio Technica M50s - on some asian dude
Monster pro copper - business man
shure 535 - hipster guy
UE tf10s - business man
also what looked like HD555s on a very tall, very large man, they barely fit his head
