Bad example. Some of the lowrider headphones look awesome in my opinion.

To each his own. Also, I am a huge fan of the upper tiered Grado design, so you'll see why I think these are silly.

^^... I think everything celebrity oriented looks utterly moronic. Slaves and stupid people don't know what else to worship I guess...

I prefer the sci-fi and/or industrialistic design. Rugged elegance is nice too. and then you have stuff like the Denons / JVC DX1000, abd R10's that just wreak class.

And then there's the 'no look no limits' Stax stylistic appeal.

Grado just looks retro and classy, like "'kaboom, here I am."

So apparently where I live skullcandy is out, and now it's all about urbanears. I wonder how their phones sound; as much as I hate saying this, I think we've got something worse than skullcandies on the market....

Audio-Technica Stay updated on Audio-Technica at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

Saw a dude with XD200's. Haven't seen those in a while.

ZOMG DX1000. They look the most ridiculous out of all the wood headphones, but they somehow look awesome.

2-3 Beats (does *anyone* actually wear these as headphones, because I only ever see them worn as neckbands).

And, for the first time, I spotted someone with a decent set of cans... I was so surprised that I stopped my conversation with the girl I was with so I could look. Then it became awkward, because the M50 was on a pretty girl, and the girl I was with started asking what I was looking at, and I said "Oh, just admiring her cans... first decent pair I've seen." Cue an awkward conversation about what I really meant, and what an "Audio-Technica" was. I don't know if I made my case better or worse that I was talking about headphones.

Still! First time I've spotted good phones in the wild!

 That's hilarious.

Oh, I didn't see the DX1000 in the wild (I tried them out a while ago. If I ever see them hover around $500 used, I'm buying them without a second thought. Probably my favorite closed headphone. That I've tried out anyways, which discludes the R10, the older AT woodies, 4070, and such, so I don't really have a valid opinion. I do feel that closed headphones should be masters of bass, which the DX1000's sure are.) I was referring to a previous comment. I also saw someone else sporting some soft touch Incase headphones that are sold in the Apple store.

Just saw 2 friends today : one had a Senh HD650 and the other a Panasonic RP-DJ600. I also saw a guy on the street that had a headphone that, from were I was, looked like an awful lot the Kanen KM-880 but in blue plastic. The hinge and headband were really similar, but they may have been rebranded (and repriced) cheap chinese headphones because I *think* I saw a logo on the headband (not kanen).

A guy brought over some Audio Technica ADH700.  I never seen these before in person, and I got to try them.  They were freaking huge!  Yet, as soon as I put them on, it was like pillows to my ears.  The sound was overall good, just bass recessive though.  Overall they are amazing cans, especially for comfort.

Fixed. The model is AD700, not ADH700.

Scrub. :p
