1,500 dollars of audio on your head is like you put a bounty on yourself.

I can understand that fear with the HD800 since they're so unique looking, but I honestly could wear a T1, D7100, or a TH900 all day long anywhere without fear because nobody has any clue what they are. I'd just look like somebody who hasn't discovered that there are more convenient ways to listen to music than with full-size cans.

I've seen K-On before, but only an episode. Never got to watch another one since. Meh, didn't really care about anime in the first place. But I never thought there'd be AKG there.

Product placement! <ding>

I would like to give props to the AKG marketing staff though. Back when the episode aired, the 701 was selling for 74,900 yen (~US$750) or more: genius marketing in place! If other audiophile companies did this (especially Sony with their convenient Japanese origins) I bet sales would skyrocket.

$750?!!?!??!?!?

Okay...'guess we're lucky that prices dropped, and now there's a slightly funner Q701 on the market.
And that's a good thing.
