Head-Fi Basshead IEM thread (lists page 1)

This list is problematic for a typical European consumer. The Sony and JVC models are exclusive to the Japanese market and the Aurisonics brand no longer exists. Can anyone recommend earphones with a strong bass response which are readily available for purchase by major online stores globally?

Aurisonics right here i Germany

I have my eq posted somewhere in this thread I use for all IEMS. I will take a screenshot of it soon. Basically -12db pre gain, +14db low shelf from 0 to 80hz, a small pull down around 150-200 to prevent mid bass bloat, and a sharp high shelf at about 16k cause I can't stand treble

vapman For what player? The creative E5?

Those are my foobar settings actually, I sold the E5. If don't use foobar's built in EQ though, I like using a vst wrapper with reaeq. Almost kept it for a general USB sound card but I dunno. If I didn't own other DACs I Woulda kept it.

I do the same on rockboxed xduoo x3

This makes the 16mm Sony Z5 BLOAT:frowning2: Most sets.... this eq will bloat. The bass is way too late and messes with the mids.

Duncan actually gave me a great idea and that is to nest an eq video under all the sets. I no longer own the 2.5 but I believe I still have a max bass/clarity video so I can use that and make vids for all the other IEM. So the eq for the ex1000 may work for it and the 800st/7550 only. Bass eq with less lifting in the later bass will likely be better for all other IEM.

BTW:
Whatever you do....use Neutron.

Haha Yeh you were correct I applied your eq to the tk12's, my gain protection on neutron went to -15 db, and bloat occurred with all mid recession taking place, wow I definitely need to save up for those ex1000 if they can handle that eq perfectly without mid recession. P.s your eq setting is a beast i don't think im a bass head after listening to that i couldn't handle the frequency changes from 64hz onwards, my brain only likes eq at 20hz-50hz for some reason.

 All my settings are beast.

That eq will bloat the Z5 and everything else. I usually cut around 240 to give the kick drum more snap.

BTW touch the sliders and you can do precise eq editing.

About to pull the trigger on the Sony mdr EX800st too... Figured, why not? Basically in the interests of being a good basshead. I definitely do not need them...not one bit.

$180, good deal?

The 800st are #1

No controversy. 500mW 16mm and still good mids.

This is the day I could walk away. And I announced that. Strictly on bass, and and as a bonus mids.
I'd rec the 800/7550 more than the 1000. 1000's take a buncha work like the JVC SZ. The 800 need black tape.
