^^ How long do you burn this in? I burned it in out of the box, for 7 hours, ang have been using it periodocally.... So, i don't know if it is in it's full potential now. He He..

One guy recommended 100 hours a few pages ago.  I think 50 is enough, not sure.  I didn't keep track, and it is not significant enough to worry about.
Just enjoy them!  =]

Biggest change is probably in the first 25 hours. I did about half/half burn-in and listening up to 50 and can't say I noticed much of a change after that. It's a short enough time that you should just listen to them. If the highs are a bit harsh for you then the burn-in will help, but otherwise there's not a ton of change.

Pff... 100 hours, you need more like 1,000 before they start to sing!

I don't have that kind of patience.  I already hate the 500 hours it takes for SR325 and A2000X to really show their true colors.

Do I really that much time to burn in?

I just go the HD 25 Adidas version, and I was listening to Titanium by David Gruetta and it hurt my ear because the high was WAY too bright!
I also noticed more static noise where I do no on ATH M50

I already burn in for 50 hr, and I was hoping sound would be more smooth.

Another noob question, I read HD 25 has no sound stage, but not too sure what that mean. does it mean there is no instrument  separation?  I have ATH M50, and i do prefer the sound signature of it more than HD25. It just sound more smooth, not crazy bright like HD 25 and more engaging than HD25. I am not sure if it is because the burn in did not take place or is that the way HD 25 plays. I am thinking to exchange for  Aiaiai TMA-1 since I heard it is darker...

any thought on the waiting for Burn in or exchange for something else...I do love the fit of HD25, so comfortable!

if you dont like the sound sig out of the box, chances are burning in wont change much. I have the grado sr325i so I don't find the senn's bright at all, infact I find them somewhat lacking in the bass department (only complaint). The bass isn't lacking in quantity, but is boomy and not very tight at all. I'm hoping burning in will change that

oops! when I said bright...I actually meant to say the highs/treble are too high! It hurts my ear drums a bit...I thought I need to turn it down, but if I do, it feels like it's not enough umph!

I kinda like the bass in HD 25, but it feels like it amp up the white noise in the song...the hissing sound. i don't hear it as loud in ATH M50. maybe it's the innate 120db capability.
I am not a pro in anyway, so I might be using the wrong slogan when describing these cans.

is because the HD25 are a great deal more detailed than the M50, you need A) better MP3 samples or B) better amp

Yup, HD25s are definitely not smooth. They're music listening instruments, so if your source is bad, they'll let you know. They don't sugarcoat anything.

Not that kind of smoothness.

I'm starting to like how my HD 25-1 II sounds. In the beginning, I thought it sounded too bright and lacking a little bass, much like when I auditioned the ATH M50. But I guess the sound grew on me. Right now, I hear a more balanced sound. The bass has gained and improved, just the way I like it, and the highs have gotten tamed to my satisfaction.

We really have our own opinions and impressions, as we have different preferences.
