Hmmm there are different versions of the mini^3? I am not sure if it's the high performance version but I asked the seller and he says it's the headphone version with 5 gain and 6-7 hours of battery life. Thinking about it, I am having second thoughts about having an amp in my portable unit for its added bulk. It might not be pocketable.

mini3 is bulky indeed. the more slim amps are more pocket friendly

only 2 versions, the regular and the high performance, the HP has less battery life but can power more demanding cans, I have the regular and I swear its damn fine.

as for the battery they use regular rechargable 9v battery, you can get replacement for cheap if it wears out.

Thanks sir! :) Any slim amp suggestions sir? :D

I'm really intrigued with the mini3 as it is really well regarded here and our local audiophile community. The downside is its form factor. Quite bulky and it's quite a hassle for me as my main PMP is also my phone so most likely it's going to stay in my pocket. That's why I'm having a hard time deciding. I really want my purchase to be worth it, like the HD25. :D

There is NO REASON to amp the HD 25-1, it does NOTHING to improve the sound.  They are great headphones out of any headphone jack.

Have you considered the FiiO E7.  I'm using it with my HD25's through my MacBook Air and love it.  Really found no need to to use it with my iPhone4 or iPod 4G though I may try it again.

thanks for the responses! :)

How about the E11? It's more portable than the mini^3 due to it's smaller profile. Plus it's $20 less. And headfonia guy thinks mini^3 trumps all portable amps at the less than $100 price range. Any other opinions?

E11 would not be bad at all.
If you end up wanting more warmth, there's the Soundmagic A10.
