The headphone in the pictures above look real, to me.

Packaging is correct, grey coloured logo on the headband, cup internals and drivers look legitimate as well.

Hi,

First post here.
bigsmile_face.gif
Recently won these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180707383703&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_536wt_1139

There isn't many pictures, but any experienced ebayers here to advise me on whether they are real? The seller hasn't replied me for a few days already, and I'm kind of worried. Thanks.

I purchased mine from Amazon some months ago, they came in a white box, and are real, however the most important thing is the actual headphones, you can never be certain until you get it, best bet is buying from official Audio Technica distributors.

That ebay listing does look suspect, no returns accepted, feedback score of 5, could well be friends or own accounts, the stitching on the headband looks crooked, the headphone jack looks like it's only a 1/4" plug. TBH if you're selling these on ebay and they are real, you would list a lot of photos of your item to help prove to the buyer and gain their trust.

I wouldn't bother trying to save a few £/$'s risking a lot of grief.

Thanks for the reply. The problem here is that I have actually paid the seller... I guess I will ask for a refund when a week has passed (he still probably hasn't shipped the item)... Anyway, where can I get the best deal for the ATH-M50s? Is Amazon the best place to go? The cheapest I can find an authorised dealer would be 120 dollars on sciscat.com.

Hi everybody,
I just recently post bought one on www.thepwnageshop.com . The price is 80$ with free shipping. I decided to buy it hastily before knowing this thread. Then I ask the seller about the box and the warranty. He said that he usually ship without the box to save shipping cost for him but he will ship mine with the box and the warranty card is in the box as well. I am a little bit nervous about this and with the warranty, would it be a real one?

Well that price is just too suspect to be real in the first place.

However they are based ine the US, but it says delivery takes 2-3 weeks, so most likely it's coming from China, so fake...

Sorry dude, hope it's real, and it gets sorted out..

Guys
please be weary of any "used" items you buy from ebay that do not include box or receipt in the USA.

I am a great seller. II have bought and sold two soccer jerseys in the past. One was genuine and the other was fake. My two listings were detailed to the point of me showing pictures and the receipt to show how genuine it was for the genuine jersey. I also made sure to bold the fake one as fake on my listing.

Please be weary about stuff like this.
It is not hard getting a cheap-o fake ath-m50 and say you are from the usa while not stating whether the item is fake or not to sell it for a higher price or recoup a loss =/

Please
stick to Authorized Resellers to be 100% certain whether an item is fake or not
i bought mine at proaudiomart an authorized reseller
