Thanks for the reply guys! I just had a niggling doubt - managed to pick them up for £89.95 free P+P! Great wee forum!

Got mine today, I'll post a few pics when I get home but can confirm that they appear to be quite real as everything has the feel of being made to an excellent standard. There was no sticker in the earcups but honestly I don't think that this simple fact confirms that they are not authentic (nor does a different coloured box), especially if they are originally from Asia and were not intended for the western market. Anyway, I'm happy as I saved myself 50GBP vs buying them from Amazon.

So; the seller on eBay just seems to have found himself a good supplier and can offer them at a lower price.

N.B I did have a heart-sinking moment where I thought that one ear-cup was upside down but once it was manoeuvred into place everything was right with the world...!

Haha I'm glad the crisis was swiftly averted! Good good I'm slowly feeling slightly better of the authenticity of the headphones....I'm soo glad I found this forum now! Although it did initially not have the soothing effect I was after haha! Thanks to all the guys who replied!

after reading this very interesting thread and as verified Audio-Technica dealer i can confirm the M50´s with the black foam in the center of the membran-back, the golden circuit and the transparent yellowish board are the real one. Some have the number label and others,... the new one seem to have no label on the back. Pictures of the real/ original new one here:

Hope this helps :)

Accessoryjack.com is fine.
Hello, I wonder if the photos of this headset is the ath m50 fake, because the logo is gray, and mine is that way. And someone has already purchased this ebay seller, and is reliable, and what about the acessoryjack.com

So, this is fine to buy?
