The soundcloud link you sent, they al sounded the same. what are you supposed to hear?
Thanks for the head up! So less impedance the easier it is to drive the cans?
In a general sense yes, but the figure to look for is the sensitivity rating, which is generally expressed as dB/mW. The higher this number, the less power you need to get loud.
Since power delivered is voltage^2/impedance, high impedance headphones need a higher voltage swing but less current to reach high power. Low impedance headphones on the other hand don't need much voltage swing from the amp but do draw a lot more current.
Most amps fall somewhere lazily in the middle or lean more towards higher current. A few more specialized amps (mostly OTL tube amps) will run specifically for high impedance cans.
What would be an approx. fair price for a pair of DT990 Pro (250 OHM), used for 2 years, in very good condition?
How much better would the DT 880's vocals sound when compared to the dt 990's? would an extra $60 AuD justify the difference?
Just get the 250ohm version and accept the fact that now you'll have an excuse to start playing with amps...
The only reason to consider the M50x is if you want portability, but you already have the HD25 and Momentum for that. Something else to consider perhaps moving up into the next pricing tier since you've already experienced a few headphones in this range.
Wich sounds closer to a 70ohm hd25-1 II?
The 80ohm dt770 or the 250ohm dt770?
I want a pair of over ears. I have a pair of hd25's wich i love and was thinking of getting a ath m50x or a 80ohm dt770..... but in the meantime this weekend i found a good deal on a 250ohm dt770... but i am still thinking of getting the 80oh, version more because i mostly plug my headphone to stuff like, a ipod touch, a nexus 7 or a galaxy tab s 8.4....
But impedance aside, wich do you guys think will please me more as a hd25 (and also sennhiser momentum over ear) lover? ath m50x, dt770 80ohm or dt770 250ohm?
Cheers....
