Got them tonight, they are demos. I have only got an hour on them, but they kill my Grado 125s in every category, except price.

The last photo is a 1:1 life size macro. They look mint to the naked eye. The metal has a slight dull finish and is very smooth to the touch. You can see from the pictures the metal has a "flecked" (lack of a better word) appearance; I think they are just gorgeous.

No one else has mentioned this, but if you have a small head and want the PS1000s you might have a fit issue. My head is average-plus in size, and I almost have the phones as small as they will go. So, small headed head-fiers keep that in mind.

No kidding, where the split is at making the Y going to the ear cups is some of the worst looking crimping work I have ever seen and the only thing that makes grado's look cheap in their construction IMO.

Well the RS1/GS1000/PS1000 are probably amazing balanced, but recabling isn't just pulling out the stock and replacing it. It's a huge hassle...

Ditto. At a meet I went to a few months back, there were two HD 800s sitting next to each other, and a bunch of rare and vintage Grados at various other tables, but no PS-1000 in sight.

Well if and when I get another pair of headphones I don't think these will be it too many quality control issues from what i have read, but i am curious to hear them.
