If I may ask, who's turning the cups for you?

I drew up a diagram and sent it to a furniture maker that specialises in wood turning. Once I get the cups from them, I will let you know how they turned out and PM you their details.

...man...that's rough. George and Knysna are like paradise on earth. I should talk though. I grew up in Eshowe and Underberg areas. Now I live in the suburban wilds of So-Cal...

Hahahaha, it is a different wilderness!!! The Garden Route is amazing, I luckily still have family there so I usually visit over the December holidays for a couple of weeks. I've never been to Underberg, but friends have said that it's a great place to visit.

got a chance to hear these drivers. Nice balance of resolution and presence, not too smooth and not too hot. Plenty of depth and detail, neutral without being sterile. Nice overall EQ and bass to mid transition. Plenty of snap and dynamics without being harsh and too grado'y.

I don't have big experiance in listening to high end headphones, but I can make comparison to senngrado. Ypsilon have much better separation and at this momet that's all I can tell. At this moment I waiting for the 20 hours of 'break in' and after that I'll write something more. Cups, rodblocks and gimbals are made by michauczok (here's his website http://www.michauczok.com/). Headband and cable are made by me.

i just ordered a pair...i like the look of them and since many are reporting their neutral sound, it sounds like something i'll like.

...you won't regret it :). Been listening to mine today. Straight from a Rockboxed Clip+ they sound fantastic. I have vacillated back to using the TTVJ flats with them. I guess its the phase of the moon, the smog in the So-Cal air, the swamp gas from Venus...who knows....but today, with Bob Dylan in consistent rotation, I like the flats on them.

I got some cheesecloth from a local homebrew shop, but now I'm searching for the right glue...
