I don't see many people recommending 3rd party pads. Is the general consensus that they alter the sound too much?
Personally, I love Beautiful Audio pads. To me, they make the frequency response maybe more bassy (a pro in my book, but that'll vary from person to person). They also vastly improve comfort and soundstage, both the large and small sizes. I know they're pricey but they're worth every penny. I will die on this hill, but I'm curious what you all think, am I just out of the ordinary?
Finally took the plunge and bought a used Grado SE325x off eBay. So different from the SR 125e I was used to!
One thing I don’t like are the ear pads, I find them really uncomfortable for my ears, like often they slip and the drivers falls on my ears.
Which pad would you suggest me? I’ve seen there are a few both from Grados and aftermarket.
Also any recommendation for an adapter 6.35 mm to 3.5 mm? I want to use these Grados with my DAP but I don’t like the standard metal plug adapter, they would put too much pressure on the input port of the Dap.
I was looking for one of those small pigtail cable, ideally with a side 3.5 mm jack, but can’t seem to find any right now.

Finally my L-cush grado is arrived.. thanks to @plakat for recommending the kopfhoferboutiqe website to bought them..
playing around with the GW100. And i think it gives fairly good alternatives.. the sounds opened up but still can deliver good deep bass of the original pads, take notes that it do sounds brighter than the original pads.. i also tried with the reversed L-cush pads (on the photo) and i think this is the best sound for me..
Below are the illustrations of the sounds differences, usually i am using this hearing website to fine tune or analyzing the sound signatures of headphones:

Any of those. I mean if you only want to use 3.5mm then it would really be better to solder a new 3.5mm jack. More surfaces are never good for the best sound possible.
