As mentioned above, John Grado told me he took that photo himself. There is something in prototype state, not finalized and no timeframe. It won’t come with Cardas cables.

Here's my new 3000xs, with gorgeous BA pads and headband. Silvian said very people choose colors like this, which I actually find somewhat depressing. Why would you just want more black pads, when you can have something more warm, vivid, yet not showy, which so complements the wood? It's actually a little deeper than it might seem, a lovely hunter green. The pad on the right in the photo on the stand is the most accurate representation.

I'd buy the RS1 in a heartbeat but i already have them. But they're really great.

Decided to try flats on my RS2e’s. Definitely a stronger bass response. I personally find the bass just as defined as with bowls. Also, I’m not hearing any change to the mids and the highs are definitely not less, just a little more round from the increased bass. Verdict is still out.

Grados need tube amps because of their sibilance highs. Any of the tube amps will accomplish that to varying degrees. The tube amplifier tends to emphasize the bass and mids and round off the highs. What amplifier are you using? The Schiit Vali can probably get you there at 100 usd.

Ofcourse it's not a fact, but....my Vali 3 makes my GS3000x sing. Pairing with a SS amp is also good, but the 396a tube makes it come to life.
The Schiit Vali 3 is al I need...for now

Just seeing how f pads compared to l pads on my RS2e. Now I need some tubes because it’s a Grado? Hell, it’s 2024 and my iPhone dongle kills it with my Grados. Just saying.

No .... however, I will say that a Grado -- RS-1x in this case -- driven by Schiit Vali 3, with a nice tube -- is one hell of a combination.

Ambience, dynamics, emotion, excitement, impact, soundscape: it's all there in spades!! Yours for the basking .... and not too pricey!!
