I sold the 325x as found the bass too muddy for my tastes and the RS2x hit the sweet spot , that's the beauty of Grado, something for everyone

I'm glad that you discovered the SR325x for yourself, by yourself. As for RS-1x / RS-2x, online purchase returners are probably not giving those headphones the requisite break-in time: which is lengthy (RS-1x > 100 hours). Vioelectric h/p/a are always great for Grados (speaking as V200 and V281 owner).Today, I was in the "big" city and had some time to spare. I thought, why not go and have a listen to the RS-2X and RS-1X, which I had not listened to yet. The dealer told me they stopped having RS-1X in stock because they often had it returned from consumers, who purchased them online and didn't like their sound. "Simply too far away from what people expected" he said and a headphone that split the waters. I can only imagine that they must be super bright compared to other headphones. Maybe the "Etymotic ER4S" of Grado's? A headphone that you really need to spend long time with to adjust your ears to appreciate the bass compared to other headphones.
So, from the reference series, they only had RS-2X in stock and I spent some time with them playing from a VIOLECTRIC DHA V226. They looked stunning with the beautiful bright wood but they didn't really convince me. I found the treble somewhat incoherent with the rest and they didn't sound natural. They excelled in micro detail and air but sounded thin and lacked some of the kick and edgy punchiness that I have gotten used to in my SR225e. I know that quick judgement should not be ones final decision on a headphone, but they are indeed different from what I know as the normal Grado house sound.
Since I was not impressed with RS-2X, instead I asked if I could try the SR325x. Earlier I sold the SR225x because I liked the SR225e better. My thoughts on the differences between SR225e and SR225x are written here: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/grado-labs-sr225e.20231/review/27193/
Immediately I was impressed with the SR325x - WOW! Such a punchy, open, coherent and in your face sounding headphone. Really balanced and natural. The pairing with VIOLECTRIC DHA V226 was divine! I ended up purchasing the SR325x... took me 5 minutes to decide that I couln't leave the store without them.
Right now, I find the 325x better than the Hemp to my ears. Whether it will replace the SR225e as my Grado reference, time will tell. I feel like I could build my end game system around the SR325x.

Hello everyone
I tryed out a few grados and i LOVE them and i feel like i ned more grados and maybe start a grado collection? But i don't whitch ones to get maybe the GH2? GH4? Hemp? RS-1x? GS1000? So that what I'am asking you what grado should i get? I like neutral or bright sound profile i like a wide stage and good clarity. My budget would be a 1000 euros. I already have the SR325x's which i love and i tryed out the RS1x but i ended up buying the SR325x beucase i like the sound profile more and
it was cheaper.

• To get a somewhat different Grado 'flavour' from that of your SR325x, I would go with Hemp as your next Grado. It is a great sounding headphone, is a current (not vintage) offering, and is less expensive than RS-1x - which will probably be in your collection at some point.Hello everyone

Personally I’d say GH2, but it’s rather hard to find these days, being a limited edition from a few years back.Hello everyone

If you’re into lean and rather bright, the GS1000x might work. Otherwise the Hemp is a nice option that doesn’t break the bank. But I’d say it is a bit darker than the SR325x.

Would a Schitt Midguard be a "good" matching amp for the Grado hp's?

I'm from europe and i thanks for the recomendations, i did end up finding a guy from ebay selling the GH2, GH3, GH4 all for 500$ and also a PS500 for again 500$.• To get a somewhat different Grado 'flavour' from that of your SR325x, I would go with Hemp as your next Grado. My setup is;Would a Schitt Midguard be a "good" matching amp for the Grado hp's?
1) Qudelix T71's balanced out >> Midgard's halo output >> RS1x (re-terminated to 4-pin XLR)
2) Qudelix T71's balanced out >> RS1x
I don't have many experiences with dac/amps but 1) and 2) sound almost identical to me.
It seems the Midgard is very transparent and has no coloration.
Grado just sounds like Grado.

The PS500e is a nice option I’m sure (I own the OG PS500). If it’s the non-e version 500,- is too much though
For the GH3 500 is a bit much, maybe for the GH4 as well, for GH2 OK I’d say
