Tempted to buy the hemps... but I just can't get past the fact how ugly they are. Almost all Grados cans have resonated with me, but for some reason I just can't bring myself to accepting these. I've heard positive reviews on em', but my brain has been stunlocked.
Same - I have a feeling the sound sig is what I'm looking for - but they are quite ugly, which I can't say about any other Grado I've ever had or heard. The weed logo doesn't help any either...

Ok Grado fans. Help me out here.

I own the SR325X and the RS2X. Should I get the Hemp? Is it different enough from my other two, or would I be just wasting money on the "Cool Factor"?
Personally I think you already have the perfect combination (I have both and they are awesome 😎)

Hello everybody. Is it worth buying a used PS1000e for 750euros over a used PS500? and what is the sound sig of these two headphones? Are they balanced? how do they compare agaist something like the RS2x?
The PS1000e is the more refined headphone. The stage is wider, reflections are more airy, but it is still an intimate phone. You aren’t moved a single step more from the front of the stage. The bass is more defined, a touch faster so most audiophiles (which are satisfied with the Grado weighting of bass) love it more. The highs are giving more space behind the band therefore more depth. I love pipes and cymbals on that thing. All that without being more sibilant or piercing. But the best thing Mr. Grado did: It has the most forward mids I heard in a Grado yet. 10, maybe 15% more than the PS500.
The PS500 is a really great headphone, it will be in my collection someday. The PS1000e provides more clarity, is the more accurate headphone.
Being a PS it is one of the more linear, balanced (sounding, not wired) Grados, so it’s a good idea to combine it with a tube amp. Even paired single ended with the Headamp 3 the sound is holographic, real.
And I swear I have nothing to do with the seller.
Some of them were sold with balanced wiring.
So is it a great headphone? Absolutely.

But:
- It’s an unforgiving bitch. Bad recording? Slow amp? Save the trial!
- Can be picky with amps. Sounds better on the old Lehmann Linear than on the new one.
- It will stress your neck. Weighting 480 it is 20 grams heavier than even the PS2000e. Both without cable.

Even GS3000x gets the Feed-N-Wax 'spa treatment' ...

Updated family photo :)

SR325 | SR325x | Hemp | GW100 v2
RS2e | GH2 | RS-2X
GS3000e | GS3000X | RS-1X

I see you have/had both the SR325x and GS3000x.

Would you mind sharing how they compare? I own the SR325x, love it, but I'm looking at the GS3000x with interest.
