It's so odd to see Grados used as a studio can. That seems to be the exclusive domain of Beyerdynamic, Sony and Audio-Technica.

Perhaps even one additional Grado to cover all your musical needs and taste. If you can manage it the GS3000x certainly should be all the difference to your Hemp you need. A used GS3000e is certainly a candidate if you need to keep the budget down. Lastly the GS1000x might be a thought. I had a GS1000x on loan for a few days and my initial reaction was good. Maybe ask out on that as there are sure to be members who have had more experience on that one.

BTW, personal taste never had me liking the GS1000 variants. The few days with the x series changed that.

I will probably try Moon Audio again and hack my 3000x with a black dragon cable. The stock 12 conductor cable with mini adapter to my iPhone would absolutely destroy my iPhone headphone adapters in a hurry. I could get a long time out of one with a black dragon. In the meantime, I was also thinking of trying the gs10e with these jvc spiral tips and see how that does me for a while as I save up for them.

It looks like there will be another Grado headphone in my collection soon.

My 6th Grado will be the SR325x

Btw I will not be getting gs3000x,sr80x,sr225x but I will for sure give the RS2x another chance because they were my first Grado ever and at that time I had no idea what I was doing and I feel that I must fix my mistake of returning them.


The plan is simple:

7 Grados... (one for every day of the week)
