The discontinued PS500e was always a very popular model. Good bass and very clear and refined. There are no plans of the PS series coming back so keep checking as they are not showing up for sale too often. I think there are a couple on classifieds right now, one used, one NIB never opened or played.
Just dug out my CDs collection and found this album Dires Straits. Brothers in Arms , sounds fabulous with my Rotel RCD 1572 >Gustard R26>DNA Sonett2>Grado RS2 with button
I don't have the L cush for the GH1 and I am not about to buy it. I'm wondering if buying the ZMF Beyer pads for the Grados is a mistake. This will surely alter the sound although it will definitely be more comfortable.
I purchased the velvet pads a couple of weeks ago (they don't fit the GS models) and they do not alter the signature at all (or a lot less than the Beautiful pads). The ones I'm waiting for are the sheepskin version. You can either spend $150 for the BA pads...or wait until I get the aliexpress pads (which cost $10) so I can report on how good (or not) they are.
I plan to purchase a set of the aliexpress pads for my GS3000e. I'm just waiting to use the sheepskin pads to see if they are as good as the velvet version.

Right now I'm using them with my RS2e -- the light weight of the headphone combined with the comfort of the pads make my RS2e the most comfortable headphone I have ever used. There is a noticeable difference (for the better) when I switch from GS3000e (with BA pads) to the RS2e. It's like resting your head on a down pillow. No more itchy ears (they almost turn the RS2e into a circumaural model). Those who hate supra-aural hadphones (I'm looking at you Resolve) should really try these pads before they dismiss all Grado models.
I also like the fact that these pads look good on a Grado (like the BA pads). Something just does not look quite right when I see a Grado with ZMF pads (but it's the sound that counts, of course). I don't know about you guys, but sometimes I find myself staring at the Grados I'm not using...appreciating their beauty and simplicity.
