The GS3000e is definitely more refined. It improved on my RS1x in almost every respect - timbre, separation, and soundstaging improved most dramatically. Bass improved, with an increase in mid bass - I no longer felt that bass was missing. If you can find a used one at a good price, it is definitely worth it - it puts a smile on my face in a way my RS1x never could. Its separation and soundstaging just amaze me every time I listen to it.
beautiful headband and the holder. I want one like this.
I am looking for an over ear pad, but bust be angled for the Gh4. I think it will make it more audiophile, from simple acoustic understanding, it will be even more soft more sound space , maybe more 3d also. but Must be angled, otherwise mid will be loss. don't see any one make those pads. anyone know or tried it?
after the grado , I think I Will exchange the HD600 to r70x as the master reference. I want some space.
I have Teams meetings today, so I thought I'd put on the Koss Porta-Pros.
I started listening to some music and thought, "wow these are pretty killer for such a small amount of money - great bass too, more than RS2x".
Curiosity got the best of me, so I put on my RS2x and compared the Porta Pros listening to Beastie Boys "Something's Got To Give" and when the fazzy sequence came on, I was like, "okay Grado, you've earned your keep".
I like Portapro's, the 325X are like Portapro's on steroids. I'm listening to a Alessandro MS-2X out of the box right now (basically a rebranded Grado 325X), and they are not what I expected from a Grado. There is no harshness, no brightness, just a thumping bass, well balanced vocals and smooth treble. They don't sound quite perfect yet, female vocals lack air, male vocals sound a bit overly mid bassy, but this is out of the box, if those things improve by the bass tightening up a touch with burn in then this is a killer headphone, other than the ridiculous cable that never stays stays straight, is heavier than even the metal cup 325X, is stiff and has a huge Y splitter.

Whooo! I could buy at least a GH1. I never heard it, but I think it is probably the most beatuful Grado (for me).
Plus I got my own, new GS3000x. I could try before a demo unit which had plenty of hours in it. Well...the difference is huge. The bass is about half of that what the demo pair had. Better said...I hope it is the burn-in!
