Just wanted to say that I'm blown away by my Hemp v2. It's been several months since I listened to it. RS1x, 325x, GS3000x, not to mention the HD600s2 were getting 100% of the head time. I put them on today, and it was a breath of fresh air. I love having many different HP's to rotate in/out of listening. When I eventually come back to a dormant headphone, it's like experiencing the wonder of a fresh sound signature for the first time.
I have an old original pair of Grado SR60 and I was thinking about moving up to the Grado 125X. How much of a difference so you think this upgrade would be? Do you think I would even notice a difference, or is it a fairly substantial upgrade?

On another listen.. the Koss headphones give a general good full specrtum of sound but the Grados have a glowing midrange and a more rich sound which elevates the mind and soul when listening to music. Like buying more expensive guitars with finer woods and materials, the same could be said about doing the same thing with headphones.
Anybody have any experience with L pads on the prestige X line of headphones? Didn’t know if they were a good match with them or not. In particular in between the sr60x and 225x is what I am referring to. Thanks!

I would say that you definitely get a bump in bass. The difference in the progressions of updates to the driver versions is a topic unto itself and some people prefer the older drivers while some people prefer the newer ones. I don’t know how much better it would be but it would definitely be different.
After few days with the MKIV SE I must say that I have not heard this much bass/lowend coming out of the RS1x before ever.
I am a little afraid to use this amp with the SR325x and The Hemp but I will later/soon...

Have not ever had the pleasure of trying a tube headphone amp.. I have heard that it produces some amazing bass from certain headphones.. is the midrange sweeter?

I would only say that I do not plan to go back to any of my ss amps anytime soon the biggest difference is the "tubey" lowend/bass the rest including the midrange is "tubey" too highs/treble are also "tubey" sounding...
For me "tubey" is just "real world sounds/that natural real world as I hear it without the headphones on".
It is "sweeter" too vs ss amp for sure.
