As for the sound the GS3000x does not try to make a show from the music. The only immidate wow factor is maybe how holographic it is (in my system anyway). It's strength lies elsewhere, but to find it one has to simply listen to music. Not sample tracks, effects, how much detail is there, does it have bass, etc...these are actually secondary things in relation to a Grado, but most people are doing exactly such comparisons (on shows and sometimes even at home). The Grado sound will simply elude them. I think.
I have or had, many Grado's over the course of time. I still have many of the higher end models. Tried the Verum 1 MK2 I got recently. It is definitely a different animal than any and all Grado's. That being said, they "kinda" have that Grado sound. Not the sparkly highs (close), but kinda of that grittiness we all love. At $349 a great value to change things up every now and then....Just saying..

I had the Verum (I even wrote a review about it, which was deleted from admins). I really liked it, maybe the one I regret the most selling. It is indeed a planar which sounds like a dynamic headphone. However, I don't know why but I stopped using it. It was somehow...I don't know...not boring, but not exciting enough? I might buy a new one. Are the still selling?
Happy weekend everyone. I have a new ad that I will be putting up later today. When I am ready for that I will post here first which Grado headphone and the details as I would love for one of our “club” to score so I want to give you guys first info before posting an “official” ad in the Classifieds.
One hint, it is not a current model and was very well liked during production and currently.
I should be posting the early heads up around 2:30 EST or so when I get back from some chores.
That is a very interesting guess. No, it ranks several steps higher. Funny, I do have an iGrado in the less common white color, very nice for what it is and what it cost.
As I did just get in I should send out the info on the mystery phone fairly soon, maybe 15 to 30 minutes.
Sorry for the intrigue but thought it would be fun.

I never did any A/B comparison of them. I find the PS500e is a bit more neutral and better bass to my ear. The first Grado in my opinion that moved a little off the more typical Grado SQ. The RS1e is a bit more forward. Add oneself in the equation and what you like best would still be a personal decision.
