ThatSnazzyIphoneGuy also has has a good review on the ATH-M50s vs Beats, and an amazing bash review on the Shaq O'Neils

Yes, Quinn knows what he is talking about when it comes to audio.

Just subscribed to him because of that video
Not because of his bashing the beats - but because of his excellent review + camera skills + jokes

Yep, MKBHD is pretty awesome with a good sense of humor.

Here is the story I have from going to Best Buy the other day:

I wanted to see how much better my modded SR-80i's are than a Beats Pro, so where better place to test that then Best Buy? While testing out the Pro's, one of the employees came over and said something like, "Ah, I see you're liking the Beats Pro. I have a pair of Studio's myself" and then went on to say how good they were in comparison to the competition, specifically the Sennheiser headphones that were right next to them. I let him finish, then asked him if he wanted to listen to my SR-80i's (I vented the drivers...hehe). He took them from me, found something on my iPod that he liked. After about a minute he took them off and said, "Huh. Those were pretty great, but look at them. They don't look as good as the Pro's, do they?" That was when I left; no reason arguing with some employee at Best Buy haha.

Comparison-wise, guess what? My SR-80i's blew the Pro's out of the water. It was pretty ridiculous the jump in quality going from the Beats Pro to listening to my SR-80i's. And I paid $50 for them.

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who had a good audio expeierence at Best Buy. I went there to get some Beats Solo's, but a worker said that the XB500's he had were much better. I took his word and went with the XB500's, which after looking up on the web for info brought me here, which taught me all this wonderful audio stuff.

So, basically, a Best-Buy employee started my interest into quality headphones.

Nice.

Somebody should bring in a pair of LCD-2/3s or Stax and see what he says.

A lot of so-called-audiophile stores here actually carry disappointing products like beats and soul right next to the ultrasone edition 8 and 10 as well as stax and LCD2 and 3.

It would be a very easy comparison to make in these kinds of stores.

But it seems they have to carry such products to get by, which is unfortunate. The idealist in me would much rather see them beholden to a set of principles. Selling what sounds good to them and not street trash.

You wouldn't see a fancy dress outfit in a sporting goods store would you?

My only local headphone store don't have a single Beats product. No Bose, Pioneer and Skullcandy (not even the newer stuff, a little disappointing) either.

I think Monster's description of the Vektr excedes the ridicule of the Beats' description. Now they don't just say "these are amazing", they just say they are the best headphones ever, period. And people still ask why we don't give Monster a chance...

Vektr super-light, ultra-performance headphones are a groundbreaking collaboration between legendary Italian fashion designer, Diesel, and Monster. A scientifically backed assault on your senses, these Diesel Noise Division phones change the way you listen to music and even your perception of sound itself. There's no other headphone on the market that captures the international flair and glistening excitement of its startling multi-planar, tri-fold design. And thanks to Monster's advanced technological expertise, it sounds as exciting as it looks with crystal clear highs, accurate mids and stunning bas

I had to intervene and stop a young best buy employee from tricking a older gentleman from buying those crappy beats. I was browsing around the headphone section and overheard the best buy guy tell the old dude how the beats pro were the best headphones money can buy and how they sounded great with classic music.

I literally stopped and laughed right in front of him and asked the the guy what was his preferrence of music and what his price range was. After hearing what he had to say I recommend him this forum site along with headphone.com so he can see how many different headphones are out there. I convinced him that they're is plenty of headphones that sound better than beats pro at less than half the price. In the end he didn't buy the beats pro after all and hopefully I converted into a member of this forum.                   The guy even said that I should be working at best buy.

As for the best buy guy he was none to please that I stole his thunder. The way I see it, I should've  place him under citizens arrest for trying to rob that poor old man. Justice prevailed!
