I've never heard the WA22.
Joseph, you’re not helping me. I’m trying to rationalize upgrading from my WA22 to a 33 without my wife believing that it would cost me some of our shared monies.

Hi everyone... wanna join this club too!

Bought this 3 weeks ago and have just received Lazuli Reference a week ago. In my view, stock cable really prevents this phones to show its full potential. When I swapped in the Lazuli, everything is way... way... better... even with my outdated/lackluster setup.

BTW, will have my QB9 upgraded to version "Twenty" tomorrow... amazing how Ayre still supports its customers providing upgrade to this 10 years old DAC.

It also sounds great with my Tube 300B/274B amp. Even like it more than with V281 (which also sounds great out of XLR output).

By the way... how many of you guys encountered driver failure issue? From what I searched it seemed this problem is inevitable.

Welcome to the club PrTv. Nice looking setup. I’m new here too, and I’m looking for a good aftermarket cable for my Utopias. Here is the one I’m considering. https://www.stefanaudioart.com/shop...877be3b2ade9a1052c7ec5a60e23df06#comment-6662 I can’t decide between a 4-pin XLR connector or the 2 x 3 pin XLR. My Woo WA22 amp can take both.

I don't have much experience re: best cable for Utopia, but based on my research, Danacable seems to best fit my needs, so I went with it, and I'm very pleased with the result. About SAA cable, I also have one for my HD650 (Equinox) and still love it.

I think you should first find out what's missing from your setup and find appropriate cable to complement. With some searches here, I'm sure you'd find many useful inputs about this cable.

BTW, with this application, there should be no difference sonically between one 4 pin or 2 x 3 pin, and I believe you should pick one 4 pin option for the sake of convenience. <-- Pls correct me if I'm wrong here.

Thnx PrTv for answering my query. I’m all about convenience when it comes to audio gear, so I think I’m going to go with the 4-pin XLR connector on the SAA Endorphin hp cable. I think I’d like getting a 10ft cable because of having the room to move around and not be tethered to my listening station. Thanks again.

And as I mentioned, I purchased the WA33 based on pairing it with the Utopia.

I had a nice long session with the utopia/wa33 yesterday. You are right. It is such a wonderful combo. The soundstage, layering and depth, placement, air and breath, effortless detail. Crazy! I have to say effortless again as I'm listening to it now; really sounds like the music is just appearing out of nowhere with perfect timing and zero strain or stringency.

I just picked up my WA33 this past Sunday. That night I listened to my HE1000v2. Monday & Tuesday night I listened to my HD800. Last night I listened to my Utopia. My point? I definitely saved the best for last and will be listening to the Utopia/WA33 again tonight, for sure.

Yesterday I posted that I planned to have my DAC upgraded by a local distributor today... and today, to my surprise, the distributor could manage to upgrade my unit with new firmware within a day and now I'm with the upgraded unit (completely new gut) with the new "Twenty" badge.

SQ is better now in many areas although 4-500ish hours of burn-in ahead!

Pad goop. I ended up cleaning it with some cotton swabs and a microfiber cloth because the goop most certainly ended up on the plastic part of the cups. I just bought new pads from Moon Audio. I'll take a look at them very few months for evidence of future goopage. As far as I know, none of the goop got into the driver. At four large ones, we shouldn't have to deal with this.
