It is 1 year, extended to three if you apply for extended warranty online within 3 months of original purchase date.

Unfortunately, myself and a few others were not aware of the extended warranty..

Well one thing I realized when comparing the Utopia to my other current headphones (TC Phi, Susvara), is that the Utopia despite having a comparatively smaller soundstage than the TC and Susvara, it seems to trump both in separation, layering, front back depth, and placement.

Everything in the music has its own specific place in the soundstage, making it so easy to identify and focus on each individual element.

The sensation gets quite "intriguing". Everything seems separate and individual, but despite this effect, the music still seems to just "work". I'd even say, it's the most 3d of all my headphones. I've not been able to make out this effect with the TC or Susvara.
And as I mentioned, I purchased the WA33 based on pairing it with the Utopia.

Re: Goop (glue?) - The goop started to show at the junction of the pad and body. I took off both pads and it was disgusting to say the least. I quickly replaced the pads trying not to get any on my fingers but some did transfer to the pads. I used an alcohol wipe to remove that bit but it is very sticky and not easy to remove. I checked for my invoice and warranty papers. Shows 5 years with 3 remaining as of January 2021. When we are able to visit a store I will be pursuing warranty. I wonder how common this is?

Can someone explain the focal utopia warranty to me? I just bought a used one and was under the impression the warranty isn't transferable, but looking over the last couple pages of this thread is sounds like this policy has changed (a post also mentioned a change from 2 to 5 years)? Sorry if this has already been answered a bunch of times. I see almost 900 pages of posts and wouldn't know where to begin.

The warranty is transferrable with the original receipt and was extended to 5 years workdwide.

So if I'm buying them from someone who bought them off an authorized dealer earlier this month, I just need to ask him for his receipt of purchase? He got them from Focal Neim America.

the beginning of this thread would have been a good place to start:
====================
It appears the warranty is five years from original date of purchase
Warranty is transferable to the next owner with invoice from authorized dealer

Non-warranted product can and will be repaired if requested but of course there is a repair cost charged.

lol the first post on the first page: "Please read this post first, before you post!..."

Thanks though. I have high hopes for these. I was between this and the sr1a..but I wouldn't have been able to make use of my new amp with the latter.

And joseph69, today I purchased a pair of Utopias based upon your glowing recommendation of them. They’re a really cool and great sounding headphone. Sadly I had to trade-in my Grado GS3000e’s to make the deal happen. I gotta tell y’a those French really know how to go all out with the nice packaging and presentation. The build quality on these cans is simply amazing!

As a former Grado GS1000e owner, I can only say, it is not sad. It is a huge leap into audio heaven. Well traded, bpcans.

Thank you Hoegaardener. I'm not looking back. The Grado 3000e's were very nice, but these Focal's are amazing! Once I got my Woo Audio WA22 fully balanced amplifier I kinda knew this day would come. I went right to one of my favorite operas, the Gotterdammerung by Richard Wagner, and I was able to hear, and really feel, the full power and dramatic expanse of this marvelous piece of music.
