Just got two new sources and an amp to try with the Utopia.
I've read good things about the TA-ZH1ES amp and the utopia.
Will see if it can replace my Moon 430 HAD that i do love... (to reinvest in CIEM)..
Then we'll see if the 1A or 1Z get's to stay.. Or hmm the amp at the office perhaps....

Will post impressions later.

one quick question for focal utopia. focal site shows update 9ft(3m) stock cable while most dear site still show original 13ft(4m) cable. i was wondering what people got recently. Thanks.

I might just wait a bit until right before the travelling time and probably some third party company will come up with a cheaper case which obviously not as form fitting as the focal one but does a good job regardless.

Many cases work just fine, especially if you get a cloth bag too. Put the utopia in a headphone bag, then put it into a large case. Mine happens to be the Sentey GS-1401 (link on post 1), but other cases should work fine. You can get headphone bags cheap on Amazon. I also linked to one on post 1. The bag in the pics below is from MrSpeakers (sadly unavailable). The pic on the bottom is the Utopia in a MrSpeaker hard case.

I bought and received tonight a RME ADI 2 Pro DAC-amp for headphones.
It is funny how with the Utopia I can hear quite some the difference :
- with the integrated amp: more detail, cleaner but colder
- with the iFI iCAN Pro amp (connected over 2 x AES XLR Oehlbach NF14 Master X): less detail, but more lush.

Well, it's not exactly a sock

it's a quite expensive customer cover!

I took a little soft foam and cut two small strips and stuffed each under the headband wrap, leaving abotu 3/4" of no foam at the very top. The headband is more comfortable to me that way.

I was suspecting... do you have to disassemble the yolk to put that cover on?? But it's got buttons!!
Should be good for wearing on wet hair just out of the shower, which I've done many times.

Please read the thread, there are many many many testimonials. No need to rehash them. You will find someone likes every high end cable out there.

I couldn't help noticing the rather prominent poll at the top of each page of this thread. What exactly are the problems people have been having with their Utopias?
