Focal Clear Mg Review & Measurements

Saw the Oratory1990 Eq for the MG is out. Still tweaking it to my liking, but I like it so far. I'm really just dialing in the high frequencies.
I still enjoy the stock tuning also. The Bass is even more enjoyable for my music choices, no clipping even with the bass shelves, listening on my diablo under normal listening levels....

New cable pairs nicely with my Clear MG, photos here.

Actually pairing the Topping A90 to my Matrix mini i-pro 3 as my Dac and Streamer has really brought out the clear punchy low end and a also a separation of the sound, I didn't hear before with the amp of the Matrix. I really like the pairing, they really bring my Focal Clear MG to life. Enjoying my music.

I read that the original Clear is the best if you want clarity. But it is not easy to find and it looks bad after some months. My question: Is the mg-Version also dirty after using it a while? And did anyone compare the MG-Version with the Elear. Would you take a MG for 1000 or an Elear for 650?

I believe the MG has an overall smoother sound and it's more dynamic in the bass region. I definitely prefer it to the OG which I also owed prior. The color does hold up better cosmeticly on the MG. You can also buy a wool band for the headrest and the Elex pads which are black if you worry about it getting dirty.

with a bass boost for both around or just above harman levels, would the lcd-2f or focal clear mg punch/slam more iyo? and be better for music were bass maters like edm/dance and pop

Haven't heard a LCD-2F but I have a LCD-X and a Clear MG atm both bass boosted to Harman level. And full disclosure: I am not a bass head.

With this said, I prefer the punch from the Clear MG. It sounds more substantive than the bass from LCD-X. Planars are fun every now and then to change it up but I ultimately prefer dynamic driver headphones. I can EQ the LCD-X to be like 2 subwoofers which can't be said for the Clear MG because it starts distorting if I go up that high on the EQ.

YES! They will--as long as they are 3.5mm into the headphones. I used my cables interchangeably between Sundara/Ananda and Focal MG/Elear.

They are 3.5 mm but the Sundara cable is 3.5 mm stereo and the Clear MG looks like a 3.5 mm mono plug.

Maybe the plug that goes to your amp is 3.5mm stereo.
But the 3.5mm plugs to the individual drivers/channels (L and R) should be mono. Here is the cable, with 3.5mm monaural plugs, I used with both the Clear MG and the Sundara (and the Ananda and the HE-6se v.2 and the Elear and the Clear OG):

You can use stereo plugs in mono HP jacks but not vice-versa.

CST,
Thanks for the clarification.
Never used the stock cable with the Sundara (or the Ananda), so wasn't paying attention.
I stand corrected: the Ananda DO come with stereo 3.5mm plugs to the headphones.
Question: Why would HifiMan use a stereo plug for a monaural application?
