1000+ Head-Fier
I think the U8’s sense of body came mostly from its mid-bass. The U6 would still have more lower-mid emphasis. The last time I tried the U12 is too far for me to remember, so I can’t really say.
Because of the sheer number of premiums my Layla had (4-pin connectors, 12 drivers, carbon fibre faceplates, twice the colours of artwork), I had to pay S$890; approx. US$600. In my personal opinion, if you’re gonna reshell a product that has technology like TIA and the company offers a reshell service themselves, you might as well use that option. Apart from the guarantee that the technologies will function as per their highest standards, you won’t be risking warranty either. Then, if you do choose to reshell an IEM like the Layla, you’d contact Naga. But of course, it’s your choice.
u6 it is! thanks for the info as always
