I usually play with 4-3-3 or 3-4-3, but that's just my preference :)

@Deezel177 Thanks for answering. I see. Layla seems like their Primadonna. I've tried the red one, and it was pretty warm sounding. I feel JH has a very special bass tuning especially on their Layla. The stage size was also remarkable. It felt big, and well-spread surrounding. Kind of intimate, yet not too close.

Will have to try once the demo is out :)

@audio123 I see. I thought so too.

Same, though I typically transition into a 4-2-3-1 in-game, especially with how terrible goalkeepers have been this year. :wink:

for me I did not like Layla at all, Lola is till now their best tuned iem. It has simply everything, big stage, mids and highs. I have however fit issues but if I use foam tips all is good, but I hate using foam tips so I am selling my Lola. I might be interested in their new Roxanne Aion but i need to make sure that the design is fit friendly for me. But man Lola is an iem, that truly to me at least has a huge headroom , and is the closest iem that feels like a headphone. I sold the solaris 2020 due to fit as well, which was due to short stem. So till now the best fit for me is Khan. But both Khan and solairs do not have this headphone feel like experience as with the Lola at all. I also have the Angie but it is leagues behind the Lola. I sold the Roxanne Performance, as I found it lacking details. But maybe the new roxanne aion has more detail so that is now on my radar

@Frankie D man what a collection, Erlk LE, custom VE8 and Ely. How often do you choose one of the CIEMs over the erlkonig?
Erlk rules. I will be spending some more time with the other two, but I just did another quick comparison yesterday and Erlk is 1, VE8 is 2 and Ely is 3. The Erlk matches the Ely in the mids, and has a far superior bass. The custom fit though, is pretty darn good. If you own the Erlk (as you do) you have the best. It hangs with headphones. I think it is a hallmark IEM.

My VE Dragon Skin Faceplates arrived. They do Look pretty good. I took a few shots that hopefully show them off. VE did make a nice presentation with the extra goodies included ( they help to slightly soften the blow). The Elf King still rules! 39EEDECA-D406-41AA-A0DD-D9E9DC1D86BE.jpegCEAFE048-C285-4DB4-8BB3-938293A9E297.jpeg3AC7D95F-6A17-442B-BCF9-320AEDE73CA9.jpeg7ACA811E-9D26-4BC9-B73E-A49E54758831.jpeg11AEDC0E-3200-4A04-8ACB-D01AFFF78451.jpeg3BDD8A90-3141-4610-B320-8A3A9E1A0D9E.jpeg357A4EAB-B8D2-4550-93D0-06C61B0E90F6.jpeg8909C68E-5461-40DC-9221-C362FF790E25.jpeg
This collection is just a dream. I loved his both the VE8 and Ely sounded. Really wish I could try the Erlk someday.

Trust me, someone will sell one used for a much lower amount of money. When that happens, pounce on it.

I have to give thanks to Toaster. He got me into it and was 100% correct. Tks.

+1 on @toaster ’s recommendation :)

It’s the best I’ve ever heard. If I had to sell everything and keep only 1 IEM, it would be the Erlkonig. No IEM is perfect but the Erlk gets the closest to perfection for me thus far.

@Frankie D @Damz87

Glad you guys enjoy the erlky as much as I do. :relaxed:

It is indeed an incredible IEM, and a remarkable piece of audio technology.

Thanks, VE!

@riverground

I believe that @Barra has opened the erlky tour to CA.

You should check it out!

If it is, I’m definitely in!!! lol

hopefully someday I could afford getting customs for both the VE8 and the Ely.
apparently the custom Ely has better mids than the universal. I found the universal model to have thinner mids compared to the VE8.

The erlkonig is still the best iem I have heard, imo, by a solid margin. I received the rhapsodio infinity mk2 yesterday and have spent quite a bit of time with that too. I’ll be posting impressions whenever I’m not feeling so lazy. So far I’m really liking what I am hearing though!

Don’t keep us waiting for too long for that comparison though :smile:

I agree the Erlky is one of the best IEMs out there. For me personally though, I’ve recently discovered a setup that edges out the Erlky. My trusty old LCDi4 with cipher cable paired with R8 out of USB-C port (using the Anker USB-C to lightning adapter) gives me the best portable audio experience ever. I know that its open back nature and zero isolation limit its use case, but in a quiet room, it’s just sublime. I’ll just say that the Erlk is a close second to i4.
