Hopefully, the upcoming AM3D module will be the "balanced AM5" that you're wishing for (with the added bonus of THX AAA tech!) :grin:

I have had the AM3D for a couple of weeks now. While it sounds great, I don't really notice more power on the balanced output than my AM3A had.

Latest Firmware update:

2.Fixed issue where the player would stop playing in Line out/Coaxial out mode if the screen is off;

NOT fixed, indeed I tried without line out and using headphone out only and it still stops. going through reformat and flashing firmware motions now...

EDIT - Issue found/fixed! It was a bad/corrupted SD Card... Before going through the all the reformatting and reinstall of firmware suggest taking out cards to see if that fixes problem! (reformat seems to have improved battery performance, so a little bit of good news)

Dear friend,

The issue happen in the 3.5mm headphone out as well? We fail to reproduce this currently.
If you are convenient, please provide more detail to us via email support@fiio.com. Thanks in advanced!

Received an AM5 module from a fellow Headfier which I installed a week or so back, now replaced the AM3A which was stock.

Pleased to say the AM5 has rejuvenated completely my feelings for the X7ii.

I bought an M11 a month or so back and it had completely stolen the limelight from the X7ii. AM5 has changed that.

There's a great sense of control and dynamism to the AM5 with X7ii which is a bit different to the smoother M11 but makes for a visceral listen with my FH7 and happily powers my Beyerdynamic T1 which is great too.

There's no appreciable hiss which was a worry.

So now I've got both players in use, and am happy to use either.

In brief, very happy with the AM5; it puts the X7ii back in contention.

@FiiO
I have been having problems with volume wheel on my X7II which is 8 months old and still under warranty. I have been contacting FiiO India support but they have been ignoring me. I have already contacted them too many times and I lost faith in them. Please advise me what should I do now.

There were some posts referring the problem of the volume wheel might not be a hardware problem, that it was introduced with one of the FW updates (tipical from FiiO), did you try flashing an older FW? I'm writing this because my volume wheel also started with some "hesitations" after one of the latest firmwares, can't state now which exactly. my 2 cents

Yes, I have spent hell lot of time flashing, going up and down with firmwares but it clearly is hardware issue. With latest Neutron the volume wheel makes you crash it on the floor.

On Neutron, does fast forward/rewind work? For me if I press and hold next button it just skips a couple of tracks rather than fast forwarding.
Dear friend,

The button of X5III(X7) is strictly based on Android definition. However, third-party APP would make its own definition while using system buttons. So the button definition of system itself and third-party APP might be conflicted. We couldn't change the button definition of third party APP. Therefore, the play/pause or previous/next track button might not able to work perfectly when using third-party APP (These APPs might work fine on cellphones cause most of the cellphones only have volume button for adjustment and no next/previous track button).

Best regards

I have contacted Neutron, they requested for system logs but my player is sent to China to you guys for repair.
