So I ended up picking up the X5 over a week ago and...so far so good! I didn't get to root the device yet so I've been using the latest firmware and it has been very stable so far with the Fiio app (3.0.9). Folder browsing has been smooth with 2 SD cards in use, which is pretty much all I needed lol

We are sorry that we could not send pure battery to other country now. But you could find a similar battery from Aliexpress or ebay.

You can use a custom rom which perform better than stock FiiO roms.

I just tried some of the downloads and they work fin here. I tried straight from Europe and with VPN via Europe and the USA - all works fine.

If using FireFox, it stops the download and throws a warning saying that it's not a secure download (http instead of https), but you can choose to download anyway. Edit: Maybe other browsers also cut off the "non secure" download, hopefully with a way to override that(?)

If you have no luck with that, you can try this French site which has a working 1.2.5 download:

Otherwise a search for "x5-ota-1.2.5.zip" may bring up a few more sources.

And when you have your firmware installed, there is an optimized kernel (mentioned by others) that I recommend for better performance (mainly a snappier UI):

I can mirror the firmware upgrade tool and stock 1.2.3 rom (when I get home from work in a few hours). I'll add it in the thread and also to the guide in my signature (where you can find all other links and instructions).
