are you using balanced?

Yes mostly balanced on both units, there was a certain analogue liveness and natural texture to some instruments on the X5 that just seems to not exist on the ZX300. The Sony feels more digital and I don't get the sounds like I'm actually playing the strings feel. A couple of songs have felt like I'm listening to a different recording but once it's burnt-in more I'll try those back to back rather then relying on my memory.

Can anyone recommend a balanced cable for the X5 I have been looking on Amazon Canada and can't find the one I'm looking for. I want to use with my hifiman edition x v2 so I need 2.5mm into both sides of the headphones and 2.5mm into the fiio - any recommendations - thanks

Latest FW proves Fiio continues to disappoint us with shoddy programming: according to Pure & Android mode I have only 1 song by each of the artists in my library & I have no idea why it is showing wrong images.

I still have the same behaviour with images being wrong on the new firmware version too.

The behaviour often manifests itself in two ways,

Two albums of the same name by different artists will show the artwork for the first artists as listed alphabetically.
For example, "Dark Side of the Moon" by Flaming Lips and "Dark Side of the Moon" by Pink Floyd will show artwork for Flaming Lips in the list of albums. Playing the album shows the correct artwork.
There is a secondary problem here with the music app where searching the for the album shows song 1, FL version, song 1, PF version, song 2, FL version, song 2 PF version. They should be listed 1-10 (or however many songs there are) for each album in turn. Playing this album results in the playing of both in the order it was listed.

The second example of artwork problem is when browsing the albums or songs. The music app often takes the artwork from the preceding album or song when showing on the list. Again playing shows the correct artwork.

All artwork is embedded in the ALAC or FLAC file.

It might be helpful if the process of installing new FW included a reset & rescan of the music database to ensure a clean installation to avoid such bugs from creeping in? The extra time to do such an automated rescan would minimal during a FW upgrade especially if it improved our user experience? A full Factory Reset should only be done by the user.

for the X5 III i purchased some months ago.

It look awesome is darker than on the photo and i absolutely recomend it

The possibility of see artist after select the genre instead album is possible for next firmware?

I'm still having the offline Tidal issue whereby it will glitch after about 4/5 songs - restarting the song cures it and it plays cleanly for about another 4/5 before doing it again. I have noticed that it doesn't happen with bluetooth headphones - only cabled or coax to an external DAC.

Anyone else?

I have the exact same problem and gapless playback of offline files does not work.
