Thank you for response. I have enabled shows hidden files in my Windows Explorer, but there are no such hidden folder. For now, additional FOUND.001 folder appeared as well. I believe reformat will solve this, but with my collection, it's too much of a hassle. For now. I will continue experimentation, but I am absolutely in love with this player. Many comments and requests will be posted.
Hi, I've got the same problem, only 2 files (FOUND.000 & .001) have appeared, the second after the second library update, so it has become pretty annoying.
Have you found a solution on this? I haven't found a software update to fix it, yet.
Also, I would like to avoid formatting the sd card, since it has over 80GB of music in it, but if you have done it and it worked, please let me know!
Thanks!

Hi,

Please delete that two hidden files first. Then update the firmware for M3K to latest version:

Well, the thing is I cannot erase these files, even on "display hidden files" option, otherwise I wouldn't have a problem.
These files do not seem to appear in the PC, but only in the player.

Thank you a lot!
Hi,
Please try to do a factory restore in the M3K and reinsert the card for check?

Best regards

Hi Fiio, I just bought the M3K and love the size of it! While looking for the latest firmware, I came across this picture. Looks like a different type of home screen for the M3K. Is there a way to set up the home screen like this? Thank you very much!

Hi,
Do you mean the right one in the picture? After enabling the lockscreen clock option in system settings, you will be able to get that page when unlock the M3K.

Hello, i was wondering if it would be possible to add sort by "date modifed" in the file system via a firmware update. It would be a great convenience!

Hi Fiio,

Sorry I was not clear when I asked my question. What I mean is the screen on the left. It looks like the home screen, but with different style (vertical scrolling). I hope somehow it is possible, as I prefer this one more!

Dear user,

We will report to the UI designer for assessing about that.

Best regards

I have been using the player for sometime. The sound quality is really good for the price. The SQ is as good as my old X1s 1st gen. The sound signature is a bit livelier and as smooth as the X1s. X1's bass reaches lower and is slightly warmer while the M3k's doesnt have its depth, but its treble extends a bit further without being harsh. Both are equally transparent. In terms of soundstage, the M3ks have better depth than width which is a highlight of this player for sure. The detail retrieval is almost same. I love both the daps. They are one of the best daps under $100.

Yeah the M3K is great for the money, there are other players under $100 that have better sound, others that have better UI and others that have better functionality but for a no nonsense ultra portable DAP with Rockbox, good sound quality and huge battery life it's a bargain. I've used it for 16hrs over the last couple of days whilst working, still got plenty of battery left for tomorrow before it will need another charge. If they phase it out in favour of the m3 pro I'll probably get a backup given how cheap the m3k is, unless Rockbox is ported to the pro.

Hi all,
just bought the M3K as a replacement for a rockboxed Sansa ClipZip. So glad that this device can also be rockboxed (found this out only after the purchase, though). I haven't played around with it that much, but I can't get two things to work:
  • fast forward
  • touch pad locking
Anybody got a clue? I'm also uncertain how I can use the Tools menu (especially update rockbox function) properly. @XVortex, thanks for all your work. Are there any plans with merging your efforts with the original site at rockbox.org for more visibility? Also, if you need assistance with writing the manual for the device, I'm happy to help.

Thank you Fiio! The M3K is almost exactly what I want from a DAP!!

Features you include which are my deal-breakers when they are missing:
  1. Lossless + Hires Support
  2. 24+ hours of battery.
  3. No wasting money and battery on stupid Bluetooth.
  4. 512+ GB TF card support. 512GB is acceptable while 1TB is still not affordable.
  5. Less than 1DB away from objectively neutral/flat frequency response across 20Hz-20KHz range with no weird peaks, good detail retrieval, and instrument separation. Although no roll-off in 20Hz to 20KHz would be slightly preferred to the published frequency response curve with that small magnitude treble roll-off, I certainly prefer roll-off in treble to roll-off in bass/sub-bass, so it is totally fine.
  6. No issues with 20,000+ files.
  7. Shuffle-All for 20,000+ songs.
  8. Custom EQ. Nice to have 3 custom EQ curves. I wish your EQ was a 10 point curve starting at 31 Hz, instead of 5 point curve starting at 62 Hz. I usually only need to slightly bump up the sub-bass with EQ because I prefer to listen at very low volume levels where the Fletcher-Munson curve effect is rather noticeable, but, given the screen space available, it's fine.
Nice to have features you include:
  1. Gapless playback.
  2. Album art.
  3. Both file/folder navigation and tag based navigation.
  4. USB-DAC/Amp.
  5. When plugged into PC is basically an external drive.
  6. Reasonable intelligent and simple UI and UI controls.
  7. Ever improving firmware.
I call this a home-run!!

What file types do majority of the people have on their m3ks? im okay with m4a because i want to save up on space without too much compromise on quality with the exception of some select flac files.
