Sure, use EQ to tweak the sound, especially for certain albums. I just don't see it as a 'fix', especially if you can't use the gear without EQ. As an analogy, I have a drink or two at a party as a lubricant, just to loosen up, but some people can't start enjoying themselves until they're stone drunk. To each his own though - I personally find FiiO's EQ good enough for the tweaks I need to make. Would still be cool to have something like MSEB, which is far more intuitive and effective, and not have to use that awful HiBy app.

I agree that FiiO EQ used to be okay but now it's just useless. It used to reduce the volume (-6db) to avoid clipping but now there is no volume reduction and no preamp to prevent distortion. They should add preamp to make it usable.
I like the standard music app Fiio music, it’s convenient, functional, intuitive interface, it has everything you need. Weaknesses Fiio music is an equalizer, here I agree. But for those who want to listen to music without using an equalizer, this application is one of the best (in my opinion)
All the same, I believe that using the equalizer distorts the sound, that is, the sound moves away from its original correct sound.
Has any one who pre-ordered from Audio46 get an eta when they are shipping? I'm feeling pretty dumb having paid an extra 50$ vs amazon a week in advance with no information
not sure whether it is suitable to share my opinion about the EQ on our DAPs
1, The reason we choose Android as the OS for our DAP, one important reason is it is an opened smart OS which means always you can find a solution for any features you needs.
2, About the EQ, there are quite some user complained about the -6dB volume preset when EQ on, so we spent lots of time to develop a new EQ , of course some still think it is not
good, and of course we still take time to improve it but plz understand it is not a easy work to us.

You are absolutely entitled to share your opinion.
You are right there were people who complained about the -6db volume drop including me but the new EQ distorts which is in fact worse than -6db volume drop.
I stopped worrying about FiiO App as soon as I started using Neutron, problem solved for me.
I have a question for James or user, that have tested and listened to different THX AAA-78 devices.
The THX logo should certify, that the sound reproduction of THX certified equipment is fully preserved.
Therefore, there shouldn't be a difference in sound between a X7II with AM3D, M11PRO or a possible M15PRO with THX AAA amplifier.
The only difference between the systems should be design, size, UI, speed ...
Is this right? Or is there a significant difference in sound between THX AAA-78 equipped music players?

Not, the Sound quality is decided by the whole system includes DAC chips, LPF, amp, power supply. THX AAA is just part of the sound quality cause each DAPs and DAC/AMPs has different DAC chips.
