According to the FiiO rep here on the forum, any 3rd party app bypassed the Android audio resampling step, right? Just making sure.
Dear friend,

If the third party APP doesn't have its own decoding library, there will not be SRC.

Best regards

Am I confused, or isn't it the other way around, that if a third party app doesn't have its own decoding library, the audio will be processed by Android? I found that USB output was re-sampled to 48k out of TIDAL, for example.

I think he's trying to say that's coz tidal had its own deciding library?

I agree, I was listening to some Norah Jones out of Plex yesterday and she was sounding more shouty than usual. So I switched over to FiiO Music and she was right as rain again. Not sure if Plex has its own library or is running via SBC, but either way FiiO Music sounds better. Tidal’s not too bad actually, but your comment makes me wonder what’s happening at the hardware/software level. I’d hate to think SPDIF or USB out is being resampled prior to sending.

Tidal is not working properly for sure.
Usb out is also not bitperfect.
Only way to get bitperfect is Spdif.
Also I tested UAPP and is bitperfect but it cannot be used properly because of no Google services.

I was testing yesterday the usb to a Q5 with DSD upsample on the Fiio Music app and clearly it wasn't DSD coming out the other end.
