16.2.2 is the HD version. That’s the version I’m having issues with. The app will not play any music, and will just buffer.

I installed 16.2.2 yesterday on my Moto g5.
And that does exactly the same thing...just rolls through my music and doesn't play anything.

Possible issues with Amazon app itself

Have the same issues!

I tried that as well, no luck :frowning2:

updated firmware this morning
uninstalled amazon music
uninstalled apkpure
restarted
reinstalled apkpure
then installed amazon music from apkpure

same issue, just buffering

Have tried some of the same steps with no result.

Dear friend,
We checked again and found that it may becuase of the failure for connecting to the server of Amazon Music. You could try to contact the Amazon support and we will keep following this issue.
Best regards

@FiiO I have my FiiO M11 and my Samsung A8 (2018) side by sie. On the FiiO M11 only wheel spinning on the Samsung A8 direct play back.

I'm not convinced it's the amazon app. As the exact same version works fine on my phone. @FiiO can you please help?

I agree with you.

First up, just to say thanks for all the input and feedback on this thread as it has led to me being the happy owner of a Fiio M11.
Regarding the Amazon music app (v16.2.4) downloading (best available in settings) and then playing HD and Ultra HD tracks works (they play). Streaming just seems to buffer as previously mentioned.

This is fascinating. I downloaded whole playlists and I still get the circling play/pause button. It also does not work independent if the playlist or songs are HD or Ultra HD.

Do not know if this is helpful. On my FiiO M11 also on Qobuz when I start my first song of a playlist which is completely downloaded (CD quality) it takes incredible long to start. Often like 30 seconds. This is not the case with the FiiO M9 or any other device.

Other thought my FiiO M11 is not shown in the device list of my amazon music settings. Might this be the reason?

No not yet. I gave iBasso rep a chance to put a working unit in a 3 way vid I am doing with Shanling,FiiO and iBasso
If no then I will do the vid with the tragic unit and explain what happened. Out of the box I did a vid (un boxing) and the file scan stopped at 71% 2x. I shoulda put that in the vid but...android based DAP with quirks on 1st FW is par for course. Looking back it was a red flag
I hope you get an M11 Pro and sort out the hype from reality. All these reports of “much better sound, especially bass”, but I’ll only trust it if and when you say it.

I'll hopefully have it soon. If not it will be the 1st FiiO DAP I did not get since X5II. Who is saying it has better bass? On what part of what song sounds different and how?

Good question! I don’t know. It’s been shipping for about two weeks now and aside from the odd “it’s better” comment there’s been nothing. Compare that to when the M11 launched with a proverbial flood of impressions. Either FiiO have only released a small amount of stock to market, or it’s not selling anywhere near as quickly as the M11.

As an aside (and slightly OT) have you heard the AR-M2 dap? It’s an older model, but wondering if anyone in the know has experience with it.

I do have one folder with a bunch of AAC songs that won't play. I have looked at them on my computer, to the best of my knowledge they're valid AAC files, but the M11 won't play ANY of them. I haven't figured that one out yet.
Dear friend,

Would you mind sending one of this AAC file to us for check? As for the scanning problem, please also send a log file to us:
How to grab the log files from M11: https://www.fiio.com/newsinfo/239924.html

Thanks in advanced!

Best regards

@FiiO Sometimes, the side buttons automatically activated when the screen is off, although I've turned it off in settings...It cause M11 auto play music and drain battery. Please fix it

Dear friend,

You may try whether the factory restore could help?
Please send a log file to us for check if the issue happen again.

Thanks in advanced!

Thanks.

I actually prefer the A-Z not appearing, as it's a useless distraction given my numbering system used to name albums. Now... a scroll bar... that would be useful
Dear friend,

Do you mean a scroll bar like this instead?

YES. Exactly like that.

Again, I do not like that proposition and I believe I am not a only one. This is a most common way to navigate throught a lot of music-specific lists. You can scroll to desired letter by slider, and just use a scrolling gestures to navigate to desired track - from my point of view it is not a problem. In desktop file browsers I believe almost all users uses scroll wheels in their mouses to navigate - using scroll wheel and scroll gestures are exactly the same way to navigate throught files list, only difference is different tool. In desktop you are unable to quick navigate to desired letter using scroll bar, you need to press a letter on your keyboard, or couple of letters for precised search. But you have your keyboard in front of you. On android devices (or other touch-navigate systems like smartphones) usually you are not using physical keyobards (and I am not sure mentioned functionality is implemented in Android), so it is nice to have a possibility to quick navigate throught lists by a slider.

For my opinion, leave it as it is, or integrate both methods into one slider - quick navigation to desired letter and scroll throught files starting with the same latter. Just show us a current letter and leave it at the screen until scrolling stops, or another letter is on a screen, or show it and dissapear until another letter appear on a list.

yes but my albums are numbered which eliminates the use of a-z scrolling immediately. The alternative is simple. Have both options available and selected via Settings.

So how do you navigate throught your albums on you Windows or Mac?

Right now you have a built-in alternative for searching desired album - you can use search bar on a top of Fiio Music app.

You are a very specific person - in case of tagging music library - so your above proposition is the only way to do this :)

Woah there M8. How does me asking for an option to allow for a scroll bar somehow cause you a problem? It's not likely to happen so ease up :)

PS... I use Roon on PC and there's a scroll bar, hardly surprisingly, and also is extremely quick using arrow keys in any case. ALSO i can type in for example 07 and go straight to albums 07000 and above. And yes I'm quite aware of the search box in the fiio app thanks.

I like to scroll through albums in date of acquisition order and numbering them is the only sure fire way I've found to do that.

I've got the Pro, but unfortunately don't have the regular M11 to compare directly. Honestly, I don't know if the Pro is worth the bump in price for people who aren't "spec-hunters". It certainly sounds good, very clean..but so does the regular M11. The Pro is also a slightly larger and heavier device.

That’s easily the most balanced and straightforward response I’ve read anywhere. Thank you.

For me an ‘upgrade’ over the already excellent M11 would need to be substantial, not incremental. So possibly an M15/Pro or an as-yet unknown device down the line. Though I’d like to get at least a year or two of life out of the M11, by which time there’ll be options aplenty judging by the pace of progress in this market.

Just to make the point, I’m currently testing a ‘flagship’ kilobuck dap from a few years back, the AR-M2, and aside from its obviously excellent SQ (with some IEMs) the UI and software is antiquated and buggy by comparison to the M11.

Things move fast and jumping to every new ship that sails by is the surest way to ruin.

To me it seems that the biggest difference between players tend to be the software and features/functionality, not so much the sound quality. i.e the gap in sound quality between an iPod and the M11 is not as big as the gap between features such as multiple digital and analogue outputs, balanced outputs, bluetooth receiver functionality, etc etc
