As additional info, @Barra, this @ddHiFi DJ30A adapter is not intended to convert 3.5mm SE to 4.4mm BAL. It connects L/R/GND of 3.5mm TRS to L+/R+/GND of 4.4mm TRRRS. For example, Cayin E02 card for N6ii only has 4.4mm HO/LO output, and with this adapter you can also connect 3.5mm terminated headphones or LO of amp to use in "single ended" mode. Pretty much, you are tapping into single ended side of a balanced connector.

BUT, it only works if 4.4mm TRRRS Pentaconn socket of your DAP has GND connected, and apparently Sony DAPs don't have it connected, thus it does not work with their DAPs.

Sad...

But wasn't Sony the main pusher for the Pentaconn and they didn't use it's full potential? Sad again...

Yeah, I use the Erlkonig on #2 if that’s of any help. The Odin bass is very good and reaches super low, I just want more thump.
Is it worth the price?

For me? No. But I don’t think any of the IEMs I own are “worth it” to be honest.

I haven’t seen the Odin in your updated signature btw

You're a real optimist, eh?

I mean I’m not gonna sugar coat anything lol. I enjoy this hobby and I like my music, I don’t need to convince myself these IEMs are “worth it” in a value sense to be happy

They’re worth it to me because I enjoy them, but I’m not going to openly recommend any $3,000 + IEM to anyone more or less without recommending someone demo them first.

I'm happy with my MEST. I use it with the Leonidas II cable on my 1000M...sounds great! $3,400 for the Odin?... Man, that's a LOT of mullah...IDK about that. All the reviewers of the Odin don't seem very enthusiastic about it.

Really? Seems to be getting more positive reviews than anything from what I have seen.

And yet you are selling it
There’s a difference between saying something is good and enjoying it yourself

Addition/clarification: there’s a lot of stuff I enjoy that I think are objectively pretty mediocre or straight up terrible and some stuff that I think is pretty good but I can’t listen for more than a few songs without get bored to death - tia trio and anole VX are pretty much my top two on my boredom list even though I think they’re great IEMs

Thanks :)

I do agree that the LX bass texture and detail is better than the Nio’s. My big problem with the LX was the bass quantity, but that’s just a tuning preference than a technical issue.
I've just grabbed a PW 1960s 4-wired cable for my LX and now it's another beast. The bass is completely refined and controlled. I have to admit I bought the LX for the bass quantity and quality so I'm surprised by those who said it's too much.
