I have the cube which is fairly neutral in my books especially via the xlr port but it just doesn’t have the level of detail retrieval that the sp1000m had when I had it!

Interesting, haven't tried the cube so I can't say whether there's a difference. I did try the SP1000M, but made the decision to buy the SE100 because it just sounded better oddly. To each his own! :)

Ahh I really need a balanced 2.5mm connection as that’s how most of my cables are terminated... would kind of defeat the point getting an adaptor. Amp8 is only 3.5mm isn’t it? I’d like to stay balanced tbh as I found it to be superior.... looks like the SP1000 is going to be the way to go

AMP8 are balanced 4.4mm. I heard the SP1000, it doesn't have as much power as the SP2000 though I think still better than DX200+AMP1.

Cayin N6ii with motherboard A01 was really really good when I had it.

Can confirm n6ii + a01 is great with LX. Looking forward to trying e01 next week.

Nice, but with a new Phantom and newer Tia Trio in the house, I am done with IEMs. Dap upgrade is next.

Will be interested in hearing about your DAP selection and pairing with your IEMs.

Some photos of my Legend X

Looks awesome, and we all know they sound incredible. Been thinking about a similar design for my next IEMs.

If only I had that kind of moolah my friend £££. How did it compare with you’re Dx200? I’ve been looking at used SP1000’s to try and get a bargain but no luck as of yet.

Seeing as you’re looking at an AK SP1000 unit, have you considered the more portable - and significantly cheaper SP1000M? I upgraded to this DAP with my Legend X, with a Thor II Silver 8-wire. It’s quite literally the best-sounding portable set-up I’ve heard. It makes me smile EVERY time I listen. YMMV, but I would heartily recommend; as I consider it a genuinely TOTL combo. Worth a try...

My current rig is delivering musical enjoyment in spades, of late. But I got to thinking, what would be the best IEM I could introduce as a partner to my; Legend X, AK SP1000M, Thor II Silver 8-wire combo, rather than replacement.

It is well known that the Legend X has an L-shaped profile - albeit while providing a phenomenal aural experience overall. Because it’s a more bass-centric IEM though, I’m looking to find something people consider both a TOTL, Top 3 in the market quality. But also an IEM that has a more neutral sound signature, that’s balanced across all frequencies, but still exemplary at what it does, irrespective of price.

I’ve heard the Vision Ears Elysium, or even the Campfire Solaris could be good companions with the equipment I have. While I’m really enjoying my current setup, I was wondering if anyone had alternative IEM suggestions they’ve actually heard, in comparison to the Legend X.

Two things, mate.

I'm really thinking about update my DAP from SE100 to SP100M, trying to find the excuse. good to hear that you like it with the LX. I'm really enjoying the Audioquest Cobalt these days, really practical and sounds amazing. :)

IEM, I do have the A12t and I love it as a companion to my LX. but I would suggest you to give the A18t (or the new A18s) a try, the Apex technology on the 64 audios is special, best comfort over time ever. VE Elysium is my next step on the list for now (@mvvRAZ will agree, he loves it). I heard it briefly while in Japan and it sounds amazing.

Guys,

Try this one on your IEM's and compare the kick drum, Imaging and soundstage.

I saw someone posting about a special edition Solaris recently, and just wanted to note how much nicer EE's abalone faceplate is than the one they came up with, in my opinion...

I mean, I guess it's a different style, but definitely less up my alley.

Based on what I’m hearing, A18t or Elysium seems like the way to go. Thanks for your insight. Apparently, Solaris isn’t really considered neutral, and has a bit of a bass bump - so not necessarily the best counterpart to the LX. Either way, I need to demo these IEMs...

Does anyone know an EE iem that has a similar sound signature to that of the CA Atlas?

LX is basically a more refined and resolving Atlas imho
