I saw exactly the same battery locally  and got one. I can confirm it can last more than 16 hours on a single charge. Now only if the back cover is also available somewhere.

Quote:
Get my extended back cover & large capacity 5500 mah battery 2 days ago from Jaben China, tested it with first fully charge

Gear: SE846    9ohms
Gain: Mid
Volume: 180
Files: Flac/Alac  16/44.1
Times: 16hrs plus

This just the first charged, I think it will improve the battery life after few charges
Still no sign of any SQ changes, these need to test it back to back few times

Below is some pictures

ugh, this is annoying. I finally got the USB dac driver to install on my windows 8 following the guide shown a few pages back. THe problem is that after the driver was installed and the PC finally is able to detect the usb dac, the option to use it in playback devices disappears. I have enabled show disconnected &disabled devices but nth is shown there. Anyone has any idea what I can do?

Yeah @Jensenchua where did you get that back for the battery ?

Great find BTW. Does the DAP step-down in voltage after it hits a certain % of drain on the battery ? I'd imagine this battery would help me wing it with planars until I get a portable amp later by delaying any powering voltage step-down..

battery driven device drops voltage as the charge goes down. For DX90 the range is 4.3v (fully-charged) to 3.5v (drained)

and maybe that drop-off would be delayed with the monster battery above ? Is it like a 'cliff drop' or a 'continual low gradient slope' decay with DAPs ?
Wonder if my linear XPAL battery pack would work with the DX90.

if the change is linear. You get to enjoy DX90 at it's best longer on a bigger battery than the stock

Do you guys think there'll be any decrease in sound quality if the DX90's line out isn't maxed at 255 when connected to an external amplifier?

Technically yes. But at what volume the degrading becomes noticeable is totally subjective.

So it really isn't meant to be some kind of variable preamplifier? It's a DAC chip controlled digital volume control?

It's Jaben China that makes and sells it and there seems to be no way of buying it from outside China :frowning2:

Perhaps @Jensenchua can organize a mass order?
