Perhaps Whitigir is thinking of the male 4.4 plugs, which come from NDICS in two flavors, brass and OFC copper. I spoke with NDICS (I think their actual factories are in China, and company HQ/R&D is in Japan) and they said there's only one type of 4.4 female pentaconn - and it's gold plated brass.

I saw in an earlier post someone said their AMP8 didn’t have a genuine Pentaconn female 4.4 jack so they replaced it and got a better fit. Well, I investigated and compared a genuine Pentaconn from Japan to the Chinese knockoff and the one on the AMP8 and the AMP8 one appears to be genuine. I asked NDICS (4.4 inventor) the wholesale cost of the female 4.4 jack and it’s $3.50. $30 is just the retail price. Perhaps Paul can confirm 100% that the AMP8 uses a genuine NDICS 4.4 jack.

There are 2 versions of pentaconn 4.4 socket. The one in Amp8 is a lower tier than the original, but is authentic

I saw on Currawong's Fujiya Avic video that they have recently introduced chassis mount Pentaconn sockets? Time to start modifying 4.4 into every device with 2.5 and a little room to spare :grimacing:

I'm inquiring about the cable mount 4.4 they sell. It's threaded with a barrel so it could screw into a panel.

We have made it purposely easy to change the battery on the DX220, DX200 and DX150. Just the back needs to come off and there is the WiFi antenna to disconnect and then the battery. The battery is good for at least 500 cycles but it is best to charge it when you are done using it on battery because it will last longer. Draining to zero is bad for the battery and will over time, shorten its life. There is no need to discharge every month. If you drain it to 50%, recharge, 20% recharge, 80% recharge. And most importantly, yes, Always Enjoy the Music!
Ok.. then it's clear, just treat it like a smartphone... u dont need to wait until it notif LowBatt... I Like it... that will take away one problem, so can enjoy Music... Cheers Paul

Well the DX220 alrd warm topic to discuss , so probably is how you can get a casing that help the heat dissipation.

my new style, since I concern how warm it is if put in the pocket....

AMP 8 vs AMp1Mk2... that's a topic that still interests me, but the discussion was so short...

It's amazing that the DX220 is 1/4 the price of the new AK SP2000 and SP1000. If the DX220 is roughly at the same level, it's a bargain.

I sold my amp8W long before and didn’t have a chance to listen with DX220 even though DX200TI/amp8W was my best combination.
However, DX220/amp1ii are actually excellent too. :smile_phones: Will test DX220 with amp4SW later on.

Going to introduce. I pointed out that they need something Neutrik-style for thicker chassis, as their demo socket will only fit chassis that are about 1mm thick. We can only hope.

Those who want film type protector for DX220, these are cheap candidate. Exact required size is 62mm x 120mm so slight trim on 1 side will suffice.14D4EC18-F53D-45E7-B4FC-D190200E001B.jpeg

No, I meant exactly that Pentaconn originally released Chassis mount 4.4mm socket (female) which retailed for $45 usd. Then later on Pentaconn also released a cheaper version of that same chassis mount which is about $25 or so.

This is cheaper one

This is the original and more expensive one

Both of those above have not any differences that I could observe in sound quality and Plug/unplug....long term usage reliability. Also to your attention is that Ibasso over Amp8 marketing did Disclose that 4.4mm socket is Authentic Pentaconn (so that is your other clarifications) to go with that.

Yes, Pentaconn also has 4.4mm regular brass+gold plated and a more high end copper-gold plated male plugs. I have used them all.

Another thing to note is that 4.4mm Female from Nobunaga is not going to play well with Furutech 4.4mm Male. Your expensive Furutech 4.4mm male will be scratched off and damaged.....it also damage 4.4 Pentaconn male but less severely. So, out of all 4.4mm I have used....the best sounding is also 2 off them....Pentaconn and it OFC or Furutech.....they are both also the most reliable one
