...through the years Sunday was a bust. Long working day yesterday (bummer). Finally, got my percussion / tambourine fix tonight!. Damn, 229's in full 3d holo mode.
From my old cd collection, pre-loudness wars era.Have to crank up the vol. a bit. First time i used high gain in amp9 stage (but kept Med. @ the dac), very nice, very nice indeed...
So we can set the gain level of the amp stage and dac stage separately?

Just ordered the dignis case, I've been waiting for a while for a new case. the stock case is not that great - the color choice is not so great when you actually use the player as a portable while commuting and etc. How long did your dignis case took to arrive?

The good thing of Dignis case that has the mesh in the back so heat can dissipate...

Yes, and it still looks good too, so I think besides functional it's also form. Looks really good.

Here are the 2 separate switches

ofc after the ...223 update the amp9 switch came w/ this. The former ss should cut off the gain @ the DAC stage.

(from a recent 02-03 aug.2019 meet-up)
The Elears's an Excellent tuned full size. Not power demanding, too. Hope you get it to sing. Otherwise the magnificent amp8Ex it is...

Picked up a pre modified DX220 Ex from classifieds as I have to part with my SP2000 SS to put some funds towards my upcoming M5.

I need an amp module to use temporarily until the 8 fan edition is produced, recommendations? I loved amp 9’s sound but there was far too much hissing with my A18t. Thinking of giving Amp 7 a go.

Have you tried an ifi ematch filter ? reduces hiss without too much impact on sound so i've been told
Also how does SP2000 sound compared to dx220 i'm thinking of jumping ship

As I keep hearing how wonderful sound A&K amps are and it's made me a tad curious

I'm torn between the ibasso dx220 and astell & kern kann, for a heavy metal listening and amiron "250 hom" headphones which you recommend me and why?
thanks.
I have both those players. They both have their pros and cons. But the truth is when I need or want to go out and about with b/t phones I take the Kann. The 220 stays on the desk and I feed the GS-X mini or sometimes I plug the Utopia into amp 8. I have plugged all my phones (see my signature) into the Kann from time to time and had no problem driving them. And the battery on the Kann last a long long time. Not to mention It holds almost two TB of memory. And this is not the Kann Cube either.

I recently received a warranty replacement dx220
now I remember my original dx220 AMP9 sounding wonderful smooth and blissful

When I received it the module wouldn't connect (no sound) I fiddled with it for some time and then is suddenly it just connected not sure if it was just the terminal being new and not yielding a good connection.

Now i don't know if i'm getting paranoid but this one with the same AMP9 module still sounds sort of distorted, congested, bloated it probably has just over 100 hours on it and i'm still not enjoying it.

Have you tried the AMP1 MKII AMP? If just the AMP9, then the module may need to be looked at by us. You can email me at: paul@ibasso.com
