Dang, I even had a ticket to go there. Too bad there were extenuating circumstances that prevented me from showing up.
The main reason I wanted to go was to get my hands on the DX220. But I also just wanted to sit in a million dollar room. I'm pretty sure I'll end up getting the 220 anyway. I just look at my current collection and wonder though. And then...I start counting the budget.

Took Ibasso 2 years and some months to even cook Dx220.....but then again, someone can still buy up 3x and remain filled...just simply...even an N8 is 4x the cost LoL

The Audio and music reproduction industry has gone mad ! Mad marked up, Mad inflation, Mad MSRP VS real R&D cost....that includes even Loud speakers, Amplifiers...streamers...etc...etc..

The same for headphones and DAP. Heck, I am glad and grateful toward Ibasso for what they are doing.

I still dont understand how a Cabinet made out of wood, and Drivers that was bought from SEA or other manufacturers, and or specially ordered...and tuning crossover network can make a speaker to be 200k. Hell...200K can feed a lot of starving kids, and many different vacation to attend live shows...let alone 500k.

Sure in terms of pricing, the market today is way inflated compared to before but you need to factor in the amount of research and development that took part. Cuz if youre only looking at the parts then there shouldnt be that much of a difference in the prices.

Cuz like us they also need to feed and cloth themselves. If they release a product under their target percentage mark up it will just kick them in the arse and eventually go bankrupt.

I have never seen any other companies to roll out firmware upon requests, and even taking consideration from DIY people to improve the products like Ibasso. To have 1 of a kind that play dsd512 native and dual ES9928pro....mind u...the only DAP on the market for 2 years and still is..

Just avoid Fiio and Cowon threads... together they've already made 20 new DAPs this year.
