I'll do my best. I've got no skin in the game other than loving music and gadgets. Not saying others have biased views, I mean were all biased somehow, but I'll follow my trusty ears and let them decide.
For those of you who have bought Fidelizer's Advanced ROM, can you give a rough comparison to how it sounds against Mango OS?
Does Advanced ROM on Android sound better than stock Mango OS (from memory)?
Does Advanced ROM improve stock Mango OS?
I was a definite fan of Fidelizer on DX200, but on the 200 I liked third party apps on Android. On the 220, I think Mango OS sounds much better so I didn't get Advanced ROM.

That's Chris's presentation style he's bold and says things like his favorite word over and over. I respect his opinion but hardly take anyone reviewer to heart. To me the best thing with all these reviews is it gives you a perception of the broad spectrum and as a consumer you narrow in on what's important. Thats a great tool set. To me it's price, then sound, then feature set.
Yes you have to take everything with some salt, but you can get a general feel. And I know hbb likes some warmth, but he insists the m11 is neutralish like the dx220 so we shall see. Dx220 is the best my ears have heard, I like it better than Sony wm1a which is another favorite of mine.
hello,
recently tried the Bluetooth function, and connected to Mini II Soundlink. upon playing flac, wav, dsd, and mqa files in the Mango Player, a pop up appears saying THIS MUSIC IS NOT SUPPORTED. any thoughts? thank you..
Hi
I just recently received my dx220 and it seems a little buggy. I bought it for tidal masters and while streaming I get the whole 192Khz but on offline it only seems to want to play 44Khz on the master quality files on tidal offline. Is this normal?

That is an issue with the Tidal app I've emailed Tidal about it. If you download 2.11.3 it plays mqa offline but it also shows regular 44.1 files as 88.2. So still a glitch there. I've sent them videos of it doing it and then working in an older version as well as a bug report they said they are going to look into it.

I ended up selling my M11 after I got the dx220. I am mainly using it with amp8 but I felt the the dx228 was better in soundstage, depth, and resolution. I did like having all the inputs on the M11 and the UI was super smooth with the exynos processor. Gesture based navigation was nice too. But in the end it was about the sound for me and the dx228 was superior for me.

I can claim that for me a VW bug will go as fast as a super car. Doesn't make it so.
That is silly. The DX220 is a top of the line dap. The M11 is a midline dap and there is no comparison, IMO. The bass of the M11 leaves much to be desired and the soundstage transparency, dynamics and imaging can't compare to the DX220.
This is frustrating... I only got the dx220 over the m11 because of the mqa support... So on tidal offline is it playing at 192khz and only displaying 44.1 or only playing it at 44.1?
