I had this problem too and took my time staging it. Try doing the factory reset again, and reflash with iBasso’s stock Oreo but don’t add on Lurker0’s L1.16 patch. This stopped my random shutdown.

my device is purely stock firmware Oreo, once I encounter random shutdown, I did reset it. After reset, notice that, when the battery hit less than 10%, it will drop about 1% per 10 seconds.

As such me quoting xnuthecaveman's post specifically. My suggestion wasn't intended universally for all random shutdown problems. I believe others have solved yours with battery change.
In my case (and hopefully xnuthecaveman's??), after doing a factory reset back to 2.1.94, then flash to Oreo beta, and finally to 8.1 v1.05.036 (but skip L1.16), my random shutdowns stopped.

>> You can try the update from an SD Card. Just follow Lurker's instructions @ the below link....

<< Hello,

I finally could do the Lurker mod update.
Again, I am running a Mac with a virtual Windows 10 on WMware.
It was simply not working because I did not install the FactoryTool v1.39. Follow the explanations in "DX200-DX150 FactoryTool instruction.pdf": go to the device manager panel, right clic on "Unknown device", browse where the driver is located then install. Then simply follow Luker's readme.txt file.
That's it !

Google Music Player now shows my account but does not download the online library. I will investigate further whenever I have time. Google Music Player anyway does not play anything better than m4a.

Thank you for the suggestions. Really appreciate the help :)

To add, one shutdown made it to 1%. Then I charge normally. The succeeding it shutdown at 69%. After being fully charged, the battery drain is normal 1% after 2-4 songs depending on bit rate when using neutron as well as mango.

But I'll try Anakchan's suggestion first then try to change to amp4s, then do cycheang's

I rarely discharge the dx200 below 60 and don't overcharge. I read over google that Oreo had problems with other mobile devices - battery calibration is usually suggested.

When I encounter the sudden shutdown and the battery still have about 60%, I tried to turn on and it failed. I have to plug it into power source then it showed charging at 1%, because it is too late I decided to unplug it and charge it in the next morning.

On the next day, when I plug it into power source, it showed the device still have 58% of battery left. Once this happened, I reflashed again the firmware, and notice battery also misbehave, then only decided to give Paul a PM.

Did an AMP4s yesterday. Improved its somewhat muddy signature.

Before:
1 x Nichicon FW 1000uf 6.3v and a bit of sponge :D

After:
1 x Nichicon KW 1000uf 16v
1 x Toshin Kogyo 330uf 16v

The KW literally would not have fit if it was 0.2mm bigger in any direction or moved 0.2mm in any direction.

How is the sound changing after replacing those caps?

Does anyone know what the output power of AMP8 is into 32 and 300ohms?

Been trying to compare vs portable (or really transportable since it will be for home and perhaps occasional office use) amps/tube amps and it's been a bit challenging!

Searched the thread and I saw that the theoretical output of 6.2vrms is 1.2W into 32ohms but that seems a bit of a stretch as it would be more powerful than many desktop amps and most portable amps?

Yes, it is about that powerful ...lol. why else would I love dx200 and amp8 so much :).

Yah one of the reasons I do too, makes it tough for an amp noob like me to know which direction to go though. Just ordered the SR1 and plan on getting something from ZMF in the future so trying to plan a transportable setup. I know AMP8 can drive them fine but not necessarily to their full potential! And no I will not/cannot buy that ridiculous $8K Sony Amp lol.

Edit: for example the ALO CDM was one consideration but on paper it looks like the AMP8 is more powerful...? Doesn't seem right?

It is normal, the design architecture is very different. The amp8 is miniaturized, but it isnt weak at all. Desktop amp will outperform it, but portable amps ? I dont think so.

When you modify Amp8, it gets even better

Does IBasso plan to do a THX version of their amp modules? I know FiiO has one coming down the pike. I ask because THX is not mutually exclusive to Fiio and that technology for THX has low power consumption but high output power. It would be a good thing, since that is the only thing that’s piqued my interest with the FiiO product.

Hi all :beerchug:

As my dx200 is on its way and I intend to use it with HD660S as well (4.4mm) seems to me my best choice would be Amp8? Am I correct?

Cheers
