  JUST GOT MINE...it sounds amazing!
still trying out different tips and rings..any suggestions?

Congrats! jay628..... Man, you didn't waste any time   : )   welcome to the DN1000 club!  As far as spacers go... Red spacers have the least bass and the most pronounced treble. No spacers have more bass and less pronounced treble. Longer the spacer, the lighter the bass and the more pronounced the treble is. These changes aren't night and day. I recommend you pick the setup that gives you the best fit.

Tips..... Wider bore = wider soundstage and fuller mids.  Narrow bore accentuates the bass and treble and recesses the mids. I prefer the wide bore grey reinforced silicone tips. They will improve slightly with burn in, but it's subtle.

Glad you pulled the trigger.  Enjoy, my friend!

hey thx for the suggestions!
do u guys use amp for this IEM? i notice quite a big difference between listening with my laptop and my phone(HTC One). I am not sure how exactly should I describe the sounds as im still kinda new to all these but when I use my phone, it sounds kinda empty with weak bass compared to using my laptop and I have to turn the volume to highest to hear more details or closer to the way I use it with my laptop. I thought amp isnt needed when the Impedance is low which is only 10 for the DN1000?

DN1000 doesn't pair well with the HTC one. Probably because of the very low impedance of the iem. If the HTC one is your main portable dap, I suggest you pair it with an amp like fiio e11.

hey d marco,
thx for the reply. I had no problems paring it with my other IEMs with low impedance(s4 ii 18ohms, ar s700m 16ohms) before. Is 6-8 ohms a big difference? If an amp is needed, will e6 work? Im also thinking about getting a new dap, are the ipods (nano, touch) good enough for the DN1000??

thanks.

Yes it makes a lot of difference if the HTC one has >10 zout! Unfortunately I do not know the HTC's zout despite me owning one. The e6 should be fine.

Dn1000 works really well with my iPod touch 5th gen but I mainly use the c3 nowadays.

Is nano gonna be fine ?? I have read both good and bad reviews for the newest ipods..so im still thinking..it sucks that the HTC One cant pair with DN 1000 :frowning2: I wanna hear them right now

The latest iPod nano is great! Go to your nearest apple store and audition them! Bring your dn1000.

If you're having source problems, also consider picking up a Sansa Clip+ and installing rockbox, they sound perfectly fine from the Clip+ which has low output impedance. I think I read Clips are going for about $18? on amazon atm. It's small, efficient and easily kept out of the way by clipping onto your shirt. Ulitmately  though Colorfly C3 sounds very good with DN-1000.

+1 on the Colorfly c3

I just read an article about impedance
according to the 1/8th rule, the DN 1000 cant have out impedance higher than 1.25 ohms!! (without amp)

Good work making an effort to research. You don't really have to strictly follow the rule. The dn1000 still sounds perfect with my c5 which has 2.2 Zout if My recollection is accurate.

i guess the htc one has really high impedance :frowning2: do u know what are the zout for ipod? nvm i found it on ClieOS's review, its 1.1ohm
  1.
