DUNU DK-2001 - 3 BA + 1 beryllium DD hybrid: the long-awaited follow-up to the DN-2000 and DN-2000J!

Hi all,

If anyone is interested, I have just posted my review of the DK-2001, which can be found on Head-Fi here:
https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/dunu-dk-2001.24085/review/24000/

the 'too long; didn't read' version is: these IEMs are superb and I have no hesitation in recommending them.
The most tiny and comfortable form factor I've ever experienced, along with an accomplished and addictive sound signature that I can listen to for hours of pure enjoyment.
I'm not a hype merchant, but these IEMs are the real deal.
I have spoken

Thank you, good sir.

Would also be interesting to see how the recent Fiio FH3 perform against these.
NP, I don't have the dk2001 so I can't comment on that. So hope someone else can do a comparison.

My local store has the DK2001, I can give you some a/b as soon as they got the FH3 on the house.

Still sucks with the current situation though. Even though this is Vietnam we are talking about.

Lately I tried many tips on my 2001's and although sound is highly subjective maybe it's worth a try. SpinFits 145 sound's IMO pretty boomy, SpinFits CP100 sound better but boy, the Spinfits 360, sitting on the tip of the nozzle, which lead's to a deeper insertion, improves the sound a lot. Better bass in quantity and quality, great highs and an overall spacious sound.

I really enjoyed your review. Great sense of humor. Had me laugh a couple times. Not something I do when reading head fi reviews. Also, most importantly, excellent command of English language. Some fine alliteration in there, also. Cheers!
I went for FiiO fh3 instead of these but I can’t take me eyes off of them. Trying to save $. Haven’t received fh3 yet. Hopefully get some comparisons before too long. Thanks

You might want to complement the FH3 with the Dunu SA3 as you have some extra cash. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion. However I already have an all-BA set, T800. In my limited experience, BAs seem to excel at spaciousness and separation but lack some essential textures produced by DDs, which is why the hybrid models interest me.

Thank you for the kind words; much appreciated! :)
Funnily enough, I'll be reviewing the FH3 as well in the coming weeks too!
Not sure if I'll be comparing it with the DK-2001 in the review, as they are at very different price points so it probably wouldn't be fair.
But let's see how it goes :)

I reviewed the $59 Fiio FD1 a little while ago, and found it to be surprisingly excellent.
Would have preferred a bit more soundstage and separation, but that's about the only thing I could have faulted.
As such, I'm hoping that the FH3 will bring all the benefits of the FD1, plus an increase in soundstage and separation too!
Either way though, the DK-2001 is not likely to be knocked off its podium any time soon I'd say.
Not only is it a remarkably accomplished IEM, it's also *significantly* smaller and more ergonomic that those Fiio models, and to be clear, I found the FD1 to be relatively small, light and comfortable to wear for extended sessions :)
