I would like to add that I am talking about this version of the Beyerdynamic:

I could invest in a Fiio E Amp. It's 167 dollar. Is this a good idea?

I have a Yamaha CP 300 paired with a Little Dot LD 1+ hooked up to the unbalanced outputs (L+R) on the piano...

I've been going through different types of headphones for a few years now, and the ones that hit the sweet spot for me are the Sennheiser HD 380 pros... Don't ask my what it is, but they just sound right for most of the voices on this instrument...

They even sound good right out of the regular headphone jack...

And right... What's good for HiFi does not necessarily translate into a good digital piano headphone...

Also, more money spent does not mean a better sounding phone on these keyboards...

I've tried headphones up to the $600.00 range, and the HD 380s still best them in every way... Especially on the Grand Piano 1, which can sound fakey with many phones...

Tried:

AKG 712
Grado PS 500
Beyerdynamic T70
Sennheiser HD 600

Just ordered my second pair of HD 380s... So there it is...

BTW, B&H Photo has a promo: $135.00 (free ship) on the HD 380 pros... ( no affiliation)
