Hey I got a pair of D2K's a few days ago, new unused, but I decided to they weren't the best to bring them out with me when I'm traveling.  I already ordered some IEM instead in place of them.  I can sell them to you for $490, which is actually less than what I paid for them   Let me know.

You could always start with a partial mod. Dampen the frame, but don't dampen the cups. The angle pads also help with soundstage and won't effect the woods resonance.

I'm debating this as well.  I want to keep my cup and cable.  I'll try it out on the D2Ks first.. If I like it I'll do the 5Ks and the 7Ks..  Keeping all cups and cables..

I didn't like 2K at all when I had them, to the point that I didn't bother to keep them, 5K on the other hand is quite good, esp. modded.
