LCD2 is far larger than any Denon.

I've been curious whether LCD-2 pads will fit.  I've heard they fit T50RP, so wouldn't they fit Denons as well?  That would give another leather option as well as their "vegan suede" pads.

Yes they will. I haven't done it personally, but I know someone who has. Here are a couple pics of a D7000 with LCD-2 pads.

The left LCD-2 earpad does look a bit larger than the cup in your photos.

While my photo of the Mad Dog alpha pads were taken on the fly with my Android phone with almost no photography experience and a poor environment, I can say that the pads do fit nicely and sound fantastic.  My photos do not do much justice to the actual fit.

Where is the serial # located on the D5000?

I think its on the inside of the silver ring when you take off the ear pad.  Or in the box it came with.

If its for warranty you might try contacting Inner Sound in PDX @ 503 238 1955 (denon regional super service centers ((repair only-no parts orders))

edit: just took off the pads on the factory refurbished pair I picked up and no sticker even though it says I have a 1 year warranty.  None on the box either.  Ill check the d2k's when they arrive tomorrow.

d2k's just arrived from accessories4less and they look brand new.  They came with the packaging that looked beat up unlike the d5k's I got a week ago that just came saran wrapped to a piece of cardboard.   Both look mint.  The only downside is the dk2's shipped with a extra 8-10ft cable that came with my d1100's and didnt send the 1/4in screw on connector.   D2k's serial number was right on the box & shipping box no sticker under the earpads.
Ill give them a listen to tonight at work before sending them out to BTG to get them re-cabled for portable use.

If you were to recable your d2000s for <$40-$50 for ~10+ft what option would you choose? I'm trying to decide whether the kinks are worth recabling over. The cloth sleeve of the Denons puts it above most aftermarket/DIY cables I've seen. Just looking for something equal or better than the stock which have seen better days by now.

if its the sleeving only its about $1.00 a foot and while your at it solder in a nice Furutech jack which is about $20.00 for that amount of money thats about all you can get.  i just had a 4 foot Cardas blue cable with Furutech jack and 2 connectors made for my Senns hd800 that was cheap at $235.00. Sometimes Lawton Audio has stock cables for sale

It's like the W5000 finish, but one-upped!

I did the Markl mod myself on the headphones. Along with making the DHC cable and sheathing it including the big ass Furutech plug on the end.

They are Bolivian Rosewood also known as Santos Rosewood, according to Mark and they were more costly than normal as they are part of the Exhibition grade cups that he's making now for the Fostex TH-900, they weren't supposed to be drilled to fit the D2000, but these were so I took them with only seeing the unfinished product, having faith they would be worth it.

I say they are! They are the nicest wooden anything i've ever seen. They are smooth like plastic and have such depth to the grain in the wood, its amazing.
