Dekoni Audio Blue by Fostex

The only Official modded T50RP, designed in partnership with Fostex and Dekoni’s Tal Kocen (Audio Engineer and the “ko” in Dekoni) and produced by Fostex, the Blue is tuned for a more extended and musical frequency response than the studio-monitor T50RP, while featuring the visceral impact that Planar Magnetic headphones are known for. Types of Earpads

These are not your father’s stock pads...

Cool and comfortable, Dekoni’s Elite Velour is of a tighter weave than typical Velour pads, allowing for slightly better isolation and transfer of sound waves. Very soft feeling and considered by many to be the most comfortable pad surface material!

The Sheepskin pads offer a long-life, easy to clean, sealed pad option. Choosing Sheepskin over the more common protein leathers provides a more breathable surface and less sweat production, while still acting to focus the sound directly to your ears with minimal absorption. They are also easy to keep clean and looking like new for a long time!

Fenestrated Sheepskin is like an “aerated” sheepskin pad. Precisely measured and cut holes in the sheepskin give this pad a more true tone by providing a neutral sound absorption characteristic on the inside of the pad. So, just the good stuff makes it to your ears, and you hear a more natural sound out of your headphone. The perforations also allow the pad to “breathe” and more heat to escape.

Our top of the line pads are the Elite Hybrids, a combination of all the best aspects of our other pads. The inner-lining of the pads feature the balanced Fenestrated Sheepskin, while soft, sweat-free Elite Velour makes contact with your skin, and the outter-face of the pads is wrapped in the sleek, premium Sheepskin.

NEW for 2019: Dekoni Choice pads! These come in “Suede” or “Leather,” but these are exclusive vegan alternatives to the classic animal hides and protein leathers on the market. The Choice Suede are our softest pads yet, plush and fuzzy like Velour but even smoother. Our Choice Leather is also buttery smooth, with a lighter weight (thickness) and more even grain structure than leather – a great option for people who find regular leather to feel hard in long listening sessions. They are both sealed pads (like leather) with similar frequency response measurements, so just pick based on what sounds more comfortable to you!

I'd jump on these for my HD 6XX but the pads are still fairly new on those.

I have a pair of Elite Hybrids for my HD650 and they are a definite improvement in comfort, sound and luxury on those cans. I will be honest and say that I was not so much a fan of my HD650's for the longest time, but with these new pads and a variation on the "dime" mod, they are fantastic! Dekoni pads are simply fantastic.

Copying over from another thread about our Focal Elex pads that are LIVE now on Massdrop:

I noticed your Focal fenesrated sheepskin pads are also on Amazon, but it looks like the foam underneath on those is yellow, while the current drop on Massdrop of the same pads look like they have black foam instead. Can you clarify whether the foam visible through the perferations is black or yellow? Thanks!

Genuine Dekoni pads have YM80 foam inside, which is yellow. Depending on the lighting for the photo and the earpad model, though, you might not see the yellow. Massdrop’s supply of pads come directly from us, and so too are many of the dealers on Amazon. There was once a link in Massdrop discussions that lead to an eBay page, with knock-off Dekoni pads with inferior foam inside.

Here’s a pair of Fenestrated Sennheiser HD 650 pads on top of AKG K702 Pads, you can see they’re a touch different.


You can easily see the yellow foam inside the AKG pads, but the HD 650 pads look black. But if I get the light and the angle just right...



You can see the yellow memory foam inside the HD 650 pads. In our recent @DekoniAudio Instagram upload, you can see a big cube of the foam, right before the reveal of a new set of pads we’re about to launch soon!
