Chord Mojo issue solutions thread.

Mostly mp3s, and some flacs only.

It is so inconvenient as I need to turn off the mojo totally to play the video I need to watch.

I am not sure if this is an issue. Or perhaps it is supposed to work that way.

I wish I could help. I think the best idea is post on the Chord Mojo Official Thread. I have not opened my Mojo yet becaue I am waiting to see my reservation cleared first. In post 45 on this thread I posted my main worry.

Please can someone check for me if this is a fix.

I am trying to clear up the issue of the missing second so I can go ahead and use my Mojo. My Mojo is still sealed in its box and can be returned. Losing the first second of tracks I think could pretty much be a deal breaker.

Rob Watts says that the reason for missing a second is because of a change in sampling rate. My questions are:

  1. Does the Mojo not miss a second when e.g using it on Windows and playing a 44.1KHz track. I.E. both are sampled at 44.1KHz. According to principal it shoudl not. However the people reporting this issue are not reporting what samplig frequency audio they are using.
  2. The proposed fix should work for HD-audio on Windows, by inserting a seconds silence to elongate the start of a track. However I am worried and asking does it all work fine when skipping around the tracks of an album. I am thinking is it possible that the Mojo reverts to Windows sounds. Meaning when you effectively stop playing the album when manually switching to another track. The Mojo probably stays in HD-audio mode (your music) unless Windows actually plays a sound though. Otherwise does the fix put a seconds silence before newly selected tracks.

I think we have clarity on this. Post 7249 of The Official Mojo Thread has some light to shed on this. http://www.head-fi.org/t/784602/chord-mojo-the-official-thread-read-the-third-post-for-updated-info/7245#post_12179712 Thanks to @sandalaudio.

Following the last post which linked to an explanation from @sandalaudio there's been an other clarifying post by sandalaudio.

Post 7255 explins how Windows and the Mojo interact, as well as how computer music players interact.

Hello again
After trying all of the advise you guys gave me, I found out that my Mojos USB input was dead. I sent it back to acoustic sounds and they send me a new one. The new one works perfectly with my Iphone but it will still not work with my samsung tablet 4. has anyone with the same tablet get the mojo to work with it?
tried 4 different cables and nothing, different apps and nothing.
Thanks

Post 5 in this thread shows a link to some fixes for Samsung 4 unit. I don't know if your issue is there but it's worth a look if you didn't already.

Hi there ,
My Mojo arrived yesterday, and I am having some issues and questions.
I am using the Mojo with my Asus padfone s via USB. I wanted to be extra smart and use a hard OTG adapter with USB female so I could use a jitterbug.(dont have one yet, so no impressions)
I have experienced disconnections while playback, and since I read the Faq now, I think the adapter / cable combination is the reason for it ....
Or so I thought... I changed the Cable and the Problem remained.
It seems that USB Audio Player Pro is causing the issues.
I tryed many USB settings and it seems like the only option is to set my mobile Not to turn oft display...this is Not geraten!

I read that Audio Technica makes a good 0.15m OTG micro USB cable.
Also still interested in the jitterbug implementation, maybe with another short micro USB to USB female cable instead of the adapter...and then I will get the Curious Hugo link .
Did anyone try eather of this or does anyone know if the jitterbug would work?
Another issue just shows Up, I cant get a connection from my good old Cowon J3 via coax. What Kind of coax cable do I need.
Sorry if this is confusingly written, but things happened during the process of writing and the ancient kindle I am writing this on cant get over the fact that ist not german.

Cheers,
Nick

Totally unnecessary.

1) Mojo runs on its own power so jitterbug won't be doing any filtration over the USB power line.
2) Mojo has async USB mode so there won't be any jitter issue that the jitterbug can address.
3) The OTG cable is not going to be long enough to pick out any noise.

So what about a Curious Hugo link between OTG and Mojo? Overkill? Or would you rather suggest a quality OTG like the one from audio technica?

Cheers and a happy new year

I am not a big fan of fancy cable packed with pixie dust, so my vote always goes to any cheap but solidly built cable.

Any suggestions for Android? There are many reports of clicks and hissing, with cheap cables... Especially with resolution higher than Redbook.
I noticed some clicks using a 13 euro hama Otg combined with the included cable, using Tidal over USB Audio player pro, but seems it was due to unnecessary usb options of the player... And I have to keep my display on all the time.... Could be worse...

Click and hiss has nothing to do with the cable you use, unless we are talking about very poorly constructed cable. If it is interference coming from the smartphone itself, then no cable can fix that. I personally use a $3 OTG cable from eBay and i didn't notice any noise or hiss with Mojo + Xperia Z3+ - just show you that fancy cable isn't always better.
