Chord Mojo issue solutions thread.

I was considering myself lucky for a while, but I guess my luck ran out!
When I first got my Hugo, I ran out to the Apple Store and got a cck, it worked perfectly.
I used my mojo in that manner connected to my iPhone 6 and loved it at first listened. Then I got a cheap OTG cable in Amazon and tried to use it with my Samsung tab4 tablet using different apps, never got it to work, I was thinking it was the cable.
Then I got my ibasso DX80 and used it connected to mojo via coaxial cable and works flawlessly and sounds magnificently.
Today I tried to plug my iPhone back to it and nothing tidal or the onkyo apps will not work.
It senses the USB because the light turns red but there is no data transfer, the sounds come out of my phone speakers.
Is there a way to reboot the mojo, any other advice would be greatly appreciated, I would hate to send it back to England. What pain, I might just return it for my money back if I can't get it fixed here.

Sure. but its a way to test if its the iPhone or Mojo or cable at fault. The Mojo is a simple USB client device. If it senses a signal it will just decode and pump out. The lights don't always mean that much. I don't use an iPhone but Android. I sometimes switch between USB Player Pro and the stock Android player. And I know the USBPP will hog the channel and block signals from the stock player and vice versa.

Samsung Note 4 : eBay OTG USB cable : Mojo : JH Angie IEMs = occasional loud digital buzzing noise and clicking

PC : included Mojo USB cable : Mojo : JH Angies = no problems

With my Mojo connected to my Note 4 via a USB OTG cable I bought off eBay, I hear a digital-sounding, loudish buzzing, and occasional clicking.  This is not present when connecting the Mojo to the computer via the USB cable that comes with the Mojo.  Current theory is the OTG cable, which is being replaced.  Will report back.

UPDATE: a replacement cable has arrived from the same vendor, and I'm having the same problem.  My current theory is that it's my Note 4, and NOT the cable.  I've hooked this same Mojo, and this same USB OTG cable into a friend's Note 4, and while I still hear the same problem, it is MUCH quieter.  I don't have a solution other than not using my Note 4 as a source and just using my PC instead, which works well.

I posted something else prior to this post... but it has been submitted for moderation as I replied to your original comment, @GreenBow.

I tried Media Go... but it is failing to detect the ASIO driver for the Mojo. JRiver detected it fine though.

Anybody out there have this issue, and fix it?

Thanks.

I was just looking in Media Go. You probably did this but I have to ask please. I noticed under Media Go > Tools > Preferences > *under* Audio Output > *we can select* ASIO Device.

On my PC, it is set to Windows Sound (default). I am still running with my Meridian Explorer.

Have you tried turning the phone to fight mode only? I have the same problem with HTC M8, very annoying random noise. In flight mode, the counts of noise was reduced a lot, but I can still hear it here and there. It was the RF interference. My 2012 Nexus 7 actually did a much better job at this aspect. Mac and PC are fine, no problem at all.

This worked!  It sounds beautiful through my phone now.... but I can't go around on airplane mode all the time!  Well, good to know the solution, regardless.  Thanks for your suggestion/solution.

I know, this has limited the idea of having a Mojo on the go with a phone a lot. I wonder if there is any phone out there can be paired with Mojo nicely even the mobile signal is turned on.

Please can someone check for me if this is a fix.

I am trying to clear up the issue of the missing second so I can go ahead and use my Mojo. My Mojo is still sealed in its box and can be returned. Losing the first second of tracks I think could pretty much be a deal breaker.

Rob Watts says that the reason for missing a second is because of a change in sampling rate. My questions are:

  1. Does the Mojo not miss a second when e.g using it on Windows and playing a 44.1KHz track. I.E. both are sampled at 44.1KHz. According to principal it shoudl not. However the people reporting this issue are not reporting what samplig frequency audio they are using.
  2. The proposed fix should work for HD-audio on Windows, by inserting a seconds silence to elongate the start of a track. However I am worried and asking does it all work fine when skipping around the tracks of an album. I am thinking is it possible that the Mojo reverts to Windows sounds. Meaning when you effectively stop playing the album when manually switching to another track. The Mojo probably stays in HD-audio mode (your music) unless Windows actually plays a sound though. Otherwise does the fix put a seconds silence before newly selected tracks.
